I myself was there yesterday in Narragansett. The waters were extreemly rough. But one station (not this one) said it was great surfing weather- essentially saying it was ok. But not warning to thrill seekers to be ok. So with that in mind more warnings should be put in place, because some people may ignore the fact that it is dangerous to venture to the beach during incliment weather.

What the hell were this people thinking. It's like they put their own life in danger without thinking of the consequence. My heart goes to the family of Oliveira, but they shouldn't been there in the first place.

Why do people feel they have to stand on rocks to watch waves? The danger is so obvious. What a tragedy.

no one should judge why they were there, maybe it was to share a moment in time together watching nature at its best, or worst. Human curiosity gets the best of everyone. To say they put themselves in danger?? How many of us slow down on a highway to look at a car crash...ignoring the fact that while our brakes are on, there are cars behind us going 65mph....is that not dangerous?
Tammie was my cousin, and though i never met michael, I've been told that they were so in love that neither would have wanted to live without the other...so even though they will be missed every day, I'm happy they are together with our other family members that have passed, watching over the rest of us from heaven...
p.s. Tammie, give my dad a hug.....

Let me tell you something Lindsay from Warwick, How dare you make such a horrible comment. What if their family reads your insensitive comment during their time of sorrow. That would really make them feel good wouldn't it. Your heart doesn't go out to them because you don't have one. I know those two people personally and nobody sets out to get hurt. You are nothing but an evil person to say what you said. You are a person with NO HEART and I feel bad for any family you have that makes a mistake. Keep your comments to yourself if you have nothing nice to say. How does it feel when someone insults you, not to good is it!!!!

Friend of Family,
I am not here to insult anybody first of all. However, it is a true comment. Why would you put your in danger? Furthermore, this is a PUBLIC FORUM where you post your opinion freely.

my uncle mike and new aunt enjoyed going down there and spending time together, a lot of people do things to put themselves in danger.
ie stand outside during a lightening storm,
surf while there are hurricanes
why do we do this? i'll tell you, because we all think nothing can happen to us until a tragedy strikes. they were crazy about each other, newly weds doing something they've done countless times before, they probably thought it would be thrilling, i'm sure if they knew this would happen they wouldn't have gone. so, Lindsay you can stop with your smart ass comments. i don't care if you didn't mean to insult anyone, you just did. keep your ridiculousness out of this, thank you.

again, if you feel that I had insulted your family that is your problem not mined. All I wrote was why the hell any one would put their life in danger. And again this is a PUBLIC FORUM you come in here and write your opinion. Everyone has the right for an opinion.

We all say why or what if. or maybe this happen and that happen. but this is all just an accident. not one that the family was expecting. We all risk our life everyday. and they done something they love to do. i myself would like to watch the waves and sit on the rocks. just sorry things turn out the way it did. RIP my heart goes out to the family and friends of Tammie and mike

It was not a hurricane first of all.it was a tropical storm that was out in the pacific that was giving us high surf.Tammie and mike enjoyed being by the ocean and fishing. If you also payed attention there were fisherman there with them it was a freak thing that happened.there were also surfers surfing in the high seas but because no one drowned doing that that was ok to risk there life or were they there to enjoy something.hmmmwe risk ourselves everyday if it is meant to be it is meant to be .rip tammie/mike pray they find him so they can rest in peace together.
