I live in Clovis, and there is major damage to parts of the city. It missed my home by less than 3 blocks. We were without power for many hours last night. There is flooding in areas, and many people have lost their homes. Thank God my family and my home were not harmed badly, but many people were not so fortunate.
Please pray for the people who have been touched by this.

My mother resides in Clovis. They are still out of power and she suffers from high blood pressure. Are there any pictures showing the damage yet? My siblings and I are in El Paso, TX thinking of driving down there to go pick her up.

As a former resident of Logan New Mexico my prayers go out to those less forunate do to God Wrath..The damage is quite extensive in the Ute Lake Area..Logan Police Wade Strand released a message that over thiry homes were destroyed according to the radio media this morning...Plus debris was everywhere from the massive winds.
Village of Logan-Ute Lake (1000 residents) is a settlement located on HWY 54 between Tucumcari, New Mexico and Dalhart, Texas in the County of Quay and edge of Harding County.
Old west history of the area is posted on the unfiltered Blog at New West.net ..

The area between Prince and Main seems relatively unharmed, some wind damage. The worst of the damage is between Prince and Sycamore, and South of the Prince overpass. Brady and Highway 70 south to the Roosevelt county line is still shut down and crews are still working in the area. there was some damage all the way north to Llano. but the major damage seems to have stopped around 14th. We in Clovis would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Please continue to pray as we are still dealing with a lot of property loss.

I posted a comment but guess it didn't work so I will try a reply, from what i can tell the area between main and prince is relatively unharmed. the major damage is between prince and sycamore and south of the prince overpass to the Roosevelt county line.

I live just a few blocks away from the areas most hit. Just three doors down to my left my neighbors garage door was damaged. The neighbor two doors down to my right sustained damage to her fence. It was knocked over by the fierce winds. I heard the calm before the storm last night. Then, just the way everyone describes it; the roaring of the locomotive. I was still oblivious to what was really going on in the city. I heard the blaring of the sirens, but refused to believe that anything other than just a severe thunderstorm had taken place. As I drove to the bank this morning I noticed the stop light at Sycamore and 21st Streets was gone. It looked like a shark had eaten right through it. Also, several homes along Sycamore were damaged. There was so much traffic from people who I call looky-loos, and people from neighboring Texas. I saw the roof of one mobile home wrapped around a tree as if it had been done so, purposely. I tried to venture onto Mabry drive but there's only 3/4 of it left. There was so much debris on the streets. I've never seen anything like this. Some of the insulation from the mobile homes hardest hit; four blocks from me, was in my back yard. I saw cinder block fences destroyed. Yes, those of us who were spared are truly blessed. I am planning on doing what I can to help. I have a lot of clothes to donate, and food, too. Pray for us. Thank you father for surrounding my home with angels.

Logan, NM is an amazing community. Since the tornado hit, the people have been working together to get the debris cleaned up, help folks who lost their roofs and some entire house get out their personal belonging. All the Public Service officials, Pastors, local businesses, and the whole community are working together. We are so grateful for the tremendous amount of concern and outside help that is coming in.

as far as I can tell the phones are working, of course they won't in bad areas, but I am at the community college and they are working here. I am sorry I don't know your friend, but am fairly sure he is ok. there are only 3 listed as critical so far. Thank God for that. I haven't heard any names though. So Pray for them and their families. If I hear anything more I will try to post it.

I have spoken to some neighbors that said highway 60/84 was closed around where Bison RV Center is. That building was damaged pretty bad, and the Auto Parts Store next to it is gone. the area between Prince and Norris was closed all night and most of today because of downed power lines, but is now back open according to Clovis PD. Cannon AFB was spared, but did recieve some damage along the outer areas of the base towards the Portales Gate. It was a rough storm, but from the sound of everything, the city made it through just fine. Thank goodness the sirens worked. I think ours at the base were sounding for a good 15-20min straight 3 different times last night. I have not heard anything about the area around Walmart and Lowes yet. I did hear last night that one touched down around that area.
