I've had chicken at several of the places on the Trail. Wagners is the best of those listed.

I think the pioneer has good chicken, I don't really like the dairy cottage chicken or J's, because its not made with fresh chicken and its real slimy

Wagners is terrible I hate pan fried chicken. Wagners does not have taste to it's real blan gotta add alot of pepper to it yourself

The Hearthstone, Wagners, Brau Haus, Napoleon Tavern, Osgood Grub Co., and yes......WHO CARES (only on Saturdays though...) were the BEST, in my humble opinion....

I prefer my own, but Oldenburg has some good chicken and so does Laurel Hotel (well it use to anyway). Key is to put your salt and corse ground pepper on before flouring... make sure your grease is nice and hot too.

The Hearthstone has pretty good chicken if you dont mind the drive but if you want to stay local try Mousie's. I've only eaten there a handful of times but was craving chicken one night when there and thought I'd give it a try. Honestly, it was the best I had found around town!

The Pioneer has got gooooood chicken.
On Wednesdays, the Chinese place has a nice blue plate special featurung stray small dog cooked szechuan style. Yummmmmy!
