<quoted text>The Bible does not specifically what nation against what nation or what father against what son or what brother against what brother. If you are truly reading your Bible, you will surely see this. He merely says this will happen without naming names. You can choose to believe or not, your perogative. However, I would venture to say that people that honestly try to live according to the word of God are probably a lot happier and less worry free than those who chose not to. Agree?
Thank you for your time and patience. I do appreciate it.

Religion facinates me.
The different interpretations of the bible. Different beliefs.. I like it. So many different things to ponder if you don't know where you stand religiously. I've been struggling with it lately. I like all the points of view.

Well yes, but those "insrtuctions" are very generalized, wouldn't you say. I got the impression from CoG that there were specific instructions for us to follow. Your post alludes to that as well. So, my question still is, where are the specific instructions that tell us what nations we- the US, should go to war with and when?
For example, where in the Bible does it specifically say whether or not we should invade Iran?
We all want to smell CoG's coffee.
There are no instructions like that. That's already been said. But, if we all ~ for instance ~ followed the 10 Commandments and the Greatest Commandment: Love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself, we wouldn't be having these problems.

Alas, that will not happen on earth ~ as it is now.

I agree. As an atheist many seem to think I must hate religion but as a matter of fact it is quite interesting to me.

Good for you. My advice, for what it's worth. Don't push it, keep investigating. What ever is right for you will come to you.

Thank you. First let me say my questions are genuine and in no way meant to challenge your believes. There are intended for me understand current Christian thinking on a few things.

This question is intende to open a a little dialog on the subject.

What is the current thinking by Christians regarding the people of a country being held liable by God for the actions of that country.
As an example; Are the people of Germany held accountable by God for the actions of the Nazi regime?

Please explain how you arrive at your answer.

Remember, these are only my beliefs. I truly believe that the majority of people in any given country would rather not be at war with anyone. They are humans just like you and me. So I don't believe all the people of a country are going to be held liable for the actions of few. As for the Nazis, I call them people with no heart or soul. They didn't care if it was man, woman or child their atrocities were committed on. Their hearts had to have made of stone to totally block God out of their lives. Otherwise, I don't think they could have done this. The only good thing is on judgement day, all the perpetrators will have to answer to God.So in answer to your question, no, I honestly believe not all the people of a country will be held liable by God for the actions of a few Godless.

Your caveat is well taken, thanks. Your belief seems to coincide with what Paul said in Romans 13:1-7.

Another question please.

What do you make of the recent trend of the reduction of the number of confessed Christians in the US?

Is this trend predicted anywhere in the Bible?

<quoted text>O.K. Let's put it this way. Say you are the U.S. and I am Iran. If you follow the instructions in the bible, you would love me as much as you love yourself and i would love you as much as I love myself. Hence, you would not invade me (Iran) and I would not invade you.(U.S.) But people do not care to follow these instructions, hence all the invasions from all sides.
Yeah, but Iran is not a Christian Nation. They havent read the instructions, nor would they "obey" them if they had. The love each other doctrine has to work both ways for it to work at all

Yes it is, in Thessalonians. People fail to see it happening, in fact, they fail to see all that has happened for at least the last 20 years. They get too comfortable in their life and forget that without God, you are nothing. You may have money and all kinds of material things, but when Jesus comes, all this is going to count for nothing. People will call on Jesus when something bad happens, an illness or a death, but they tend to forget him when things are going good. So I think people are just to comfortable with how things are in their lives and don't feel like they need anything else in their lives at the time.

Uh, if you like your religion you will be able to keep your religion, period. Ah, If you like your god, you will be able to keep your god, period.
When I say, if you like your religion, your god, what I'm saying is, the government is not going to make you change those beliefs under the faith reform.

I think you're a mite quick on the trigger 2cool. But believe what you will. I just think you get a lot more from explaining the impact of things rather than just _itching about it and name calling. In that regard you are certainly a disappointment to me. I thought you had more respect for your own intelligence than to resort to that kind of talk.
Just for your edification, and I know not why I take the time after your unjustified remarks to me;I have been a non Christian, anti religious even, person for 50 plus years now. The other day, from another narrow mind except of the Christian persuasion, I was accused of not understanding the other side. I was trying to do that when you started your dising campaign. Rest assured I will not attempt to dissuade you from it in the future.

Yes there is something worse than a hippricate- what ever that is , someone who is a pious hypocrite.

I happen to believe Tired of it all, is not of that elk. That is why I'm asking him my questions. Not for you to cajole him for being a Christian. I certainly can't stop you, but I can raise my objections to it.
So, I ask you, please don't interfere in my interrogation of this kind person.
There, now do as you please.
