You know what Ned? I wish with everything in me, that people would open there eyes and see what the Lord is trying to open our eyes too. The way the world is today instead of blaming the economy, they should be pointing at themselves. The Lord gave us a book of instructions, which is his word, and noone uses it. Everything that is in that book tells us how to live a prosperous life without struggles and worries. WHY DON'T THEY WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!!!!!

Tell me CoG, what did "the book" tell us about the preemptive invasion of Iraq or how to recover your 401k after the melt down or how to deal with the famine in Darfur or global warming. If there are instructions in "the book" on how to deal with these situations, it would be awful Christian of you to show them for all to see. Is that regular or decaf that's brewing? justcurious.

How about you read the good book for yourself and find your own answers.

God's word says that nation will rise against nation. Do you see it happening now?

So the question was regarding the "instructions" given in the Bible. That's what Child of God said and that's what I asked about.
Now are you saying the Bible-God- is instructing us to rise up against nations? Is that the instruction we are given. If so, what nation(s) are we to rise up against? Where is the "instruction" for the nation(s) we are to rise against?
Thank you.

No, He is not instructing us to rise up against nations. He is saying it is going to happen, as it is. Also, father will rise against son and vice versa, mother against daughter, brother against brother, and you can look around and see it all happening.

The only instruction is to obey God and put all your trust in Him. He will take care of you.

Thank you for responding.

So are you saying we do, as a country is what I'm referring to, whatever we want, invade this country or that one, ignore starvation, support this evil leader, etc and He will take care of it?

Also I hear you saying Child of God is wrong. There are no "instructions" save obey and trust God.

So if that's the case, why do we need to fight terrorist, or any war for that matter, when all we have to do is "trust Him"?

Thank you

I am sorry, you misunderstood or I didnt word it right. I only listed the main instructions. The Bible is full of instructions. However, so many choose not to follow them. If everyone in the world followed these instructions, especially "Love your neighbor as yourself", none of these things would be happening.

I agree! They're a good way to live, if you are or aren't a Christian.

Well yes, but those "insrtuctions" are very generalized, wouldn't you say. I got the impression from CoG that there were specific instructions for us to follow. Your post alludes to that as well. So, my question still is, where are the specific instructions that tell us what nations we- the US, should go to war with and when?
For example, where in the Bible does it specifically say whether or not we should invade Iran?

We all want to smell CoG's coffee.

O.K. Let's put it this way. Say you are the U.S. and I am Iran. If you follow the instructions in the bible, you would love me as much as you love yourself and i would love you as much as I love myself. Hence, you would not invade me (Iran) and I would not invade you.(U.S.) But people do not care to follow these instructions, hence all the invasions from all sides.

But as you pointed out,God's word says that nation WILL rise against nation and as you say, it's happening now. Therefore, one can only assume God is instructing this to occur. So my question still is, since we have already risen against Iraq, where in the Bible did it specifically tell us to do that? Secondly are we supposed to, by Gods instructions, rise up against Iran?
Thank you for your patience.

The Bible does not specifically what nation against what nation or what father against what son or what brother against what brother. If you are truly reading your Bible, you will surely see this. He merely says this will happen without naming names. You can choose to believe or not, your perogative. However, I would venture to say that people that honestly try to live according to the word of God are probably a lot happier and less worry free than those who chose not to. Agree?

I talked to him too. He said his coffee was cold and this planet stinks. Then he flew off on an invisible pink unicorn.
