"hmmmm," I believe you are very off-base here. I know this family and know that the loss of his mom was very hard for all of them, as it is for most families. If you read the article that is linked, you will see that he also wants to spend time watching his daughter play in high school and his son in college. I commend Coach Bambule for putting his family first. I wish more men did that. Great job, Coach! Thanks for all you've done and all the lives you positively influenced!

As someone who has coached high school sports and know what a toll it can take on a family, I commend Coach Bambule. It takes a lot of courage to do what he is doing for the sake of his family, especially considering the history he has at RHS. My hat is off to you coach. For those of you that bring up the Hodges case, you need to get a clue. They are just reaching because Wisconsin pulled thier offer and he never panned out.

What does that say when the "former" head coach of the varsity basketball team chooses to send his daughter to Montini rather than attend RHS and their illustrious athletic history!

This is one of the best things for our school; Bambule is such a hypocrite, how can a teacher in our school not even send his own child here.

"She’s a pretty good basketball player, a guard. I did not want to miss seeing her play." Reading this article I question Bambule's ability to be chairman and his loyalty to our school. We are starting to have a successful basketball program, actually to be specific a successful girls basketball program and he removes a future player from the team.

Our children attend RHS but a faculty member send's his own child to another high school, makes one question what he knows.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the majority, if not all the talent on the girls RHS basketball team was driven by the seniors. THe remaining players are nothing more than filling out the jersey's to have a team. Even this year's team with all the talent they had couldn't win the big one and compete against the good teams. Winning their conference means nothing when you compete against the "little sisters of the poor".

Why are people so offended that he made the RIGHT choice to send his daughter to a better school? Romeoville and VVSD are average at best. Unless there's a boom or an F-5 tornado slams through the 'ville, allowing everyone to start over, it's not unfair to suggest that you won't get the very best education there. You can certainly do much worse, but let's not confuse a personal/family decision vs. a logical, objective choice
I covered their athletic programs back in the mid-2000s. Bambule is a good guy and I would definitely give him the benefit of the doubt. If he quit to focus on his family, fine. If he quit due to a lawsuit, that's too bad.
Bolingbrook did appear to poach talent from Romeoville in the past, as referenced w/ Will Walker, so I think it's perfectly FAIR GAME to question residency on any student/player. Lawsuit or not, it's high school basketball.
I didn't even realize he left the coaching ranks, but wish him well.

For what it is worth....the Federal Court dismissed the lawsuit earlier this year, and the decision was upheld on appeal. The plaintiff could not prove that Bambule, Boudouris or any of the other defendants did anything wrong.
