I've been to the West, I knew from the second I left Naperville station it was bad Juju. I believe the desert air makes the people crazy: People are far less inhibited and far less friendly in many parts of anywhere left of the Mississippi River. Particular to California, anywhere in Northern California, the towns are small and if you're not recognizable no matter who you are, you're an enemy and outcast *cough* Mendicino County *cough*. In Southern California, you're notably close to Mexico and exposed to the madness coupled with the desert air. I say stay in the Midwest: we're boring, nearly harmless, and wonderful people! I know everyone wants the excitement of exotic travel but at what cost? The emotional fulfillment you want is accessible at any time through imagination and the internet. Be smart and stay well connected and in good company with your friends and loved ones, stay positive and in good favor by them (attractive women are inclined to do this naturally, you'll notice how they travel in packs for safety and always ask [an] other[s] to go with them when they must leave their group), and if ever away or abroad - always, almost compulsively so, be accompanied by a well able-bodied companion or have a weapon and know, by experience, that you can use it effectively. I know Naperville is full of high life seeking individuals wrought with naivete, but I don't want to hear about anymore of our beloved southwest Chicagoan ilk falling prey to proper lunatics. Unlike the crazy gold mine pioneer's children of the West, we - the Midwest - show the rest of America how to have class and social savoir-faire. Even our gangs are docile and sociable, a few graffitied fences and small school disturbances at their worst. We're just better people than the West (lunatics), the South (Trigger-happy, bigoted, unrefined conservatives), and New England (Weirdos in New York / Xenophobes most everywhere else). We might be boring but we're far and away when it comes to safety.
