Boy, with a comment like "Someone should have killed it," it's no wonder some people care more for "stupid" animals than they do for human beings. Just when you think people can't get any dumber...

Man, Naperville needs to do something to keep that Plainfield, Aurora, and Bolingbrook riff-raff out. Of course, then nobody would be left to clean the poop out of the puppy cages.

Having that on your rap sheet. A couple of dogs done in by a dog. Creeps.

These malicious people are very lucky that the dog was not harmed. Thank you Tribune for addressing animal cruelty, abuse, neglect and theft.

save a life rescue a shelter dog or cat www.petfinder.com you can find puppies, kittens, purebreds at shelters and the cost is often a small donation to cover sterilizing the pet so it doesn't contribute to the over population of homeless pets. why pay hundreds of dollars for a pet that undoubtedly came from a ruthless puppy miller when you can RESCUE a homeless purebred from your local nonprofit shelter for much much less coin?

I have purebred German shepherd that I bought from a breeder. He was lonely, so I looked on Petfinder about a year ago and found another purebred female GSD. She had been returned to the shelter several times, for being overly submissive (she has accidents when her alpha human approaches her). I took her in an worked with her, and I have to say, these two have been the best dogs I've ever had, and I'm so glad that I didn't just run to a place like Petland on a whim just because I wanted a purebred and I wanted it now. I waited for the litter from the breeder, and I searched Petfinder for over two months before I obtained my dogs. I can't say enough good things about Petfinder.

Glad to hear your pups are so happy together!

Truthout wrote: Stop patronizing stores like Petland. The world does not need puppy stores!! They get their dogs from puppy mills and the cycle continues. STOP DOING BUSINESS WITH STORES THAT SELL PUPPIES, STORES LIKE PETLAND!!! Go to a reputable 'hobby' breeder: a person who just has a few litters a year. Or go to your local shelter. I just dropped off some donations at my local shelter yesterday...every cage had a dog in it who needed a home. Every time a store like PetLand gets a puppy from a puppy mill, every time a puppy mill breeeds another dog, it is taking away a home from an abused, neglected or homeless dog. Why would you want to give PetLand $1,500 for a puppy? Why do you want to put your hard earned money into their greedy pockets? They don't care about animals!! It's businesses like them that keep the puppy mill system alive. Right on!
