Review: Rosin Eye Care

I will start by saying that I have used Rosen in Naperville on Ogden and in Downers Grove before and had no issues. I went to the south Naperville location on 59 in Dec 2010 for an eye exam and new glasses. Dr. Owens seemed nice enough but it felt like the office staff was trying to get as much money from me as possible. After receiving my glasses it was clear they were not the right prescription. I called and the staff brought me back for some more measurements and another exam. The new glasses came in and I still couldn't see as well as I could with my old glasses. After weeks of going back and forth with the office staff (who were rude), they ended up refunding my money for the glasses. The problem is that they wouldn't refund my money for eye exam. I can't get a new pair of glasses somewhere else because I don't have an accurate prescription and I've already used my eye exam benefit through my insurance. Don't waste your time or money here.

Rosin eyecare is true horrible. I worked there before and they always had unethical rules making staff and docs force everyone to buy something. Otherwise we'd get in trouble yo! It was serious business!

I am having a similar problem with Rosin at Rt 59. The FTC requires a optometrists, opticians and ophthalmologists to provide
a copy of your prescription at the end of your appointment whether you ask for it or not. You can file a complaint with the FTC at ftc.gov .

I noticed that your organization has many glowing testimonials on the web site. I have a completely different view of your organization and the customer service offered by your employees.
I had an eye exam and ordered glasses on 7/18/13 at your Hyde Park Location. The women who calculated the fee told me the cost is $450.00. When I questioned the amount it suddenly reduced to $250.00. When I questioned the change I was told it was different lenses. I knew that the rep was trying to pick the most expensive product that could be sold. The rep never showed me how the cost was calculated just told me the highest amount she could. That is not in the best interest of the customer just a way to make your organization rich.
I then asked when the glasses would be ready. I was told between 7 to 10 business days. On the tenth day I called the office to inquire the status of my glasses. I was told sometime next week. No explanation of what day next week or a reason for the delay. I began to ask further questions and was put on hold. The so called manager got on the phone and again stated next week.“There was a delay”. Nothing else, no reason and he said thank you and hung up. I called your office on the 800 number and was told someone would call back. Next thing I know the manager from the Hyde Park office calls back and stated there was a delay. He said he would try to have the glasses will be delivered to my home the next day. When I asked what does,”you will try “. He stated he would call back and never did. Of course the next day I was at work and unable to receive the glasses. As of the date of this letter I do not have the glasses and do not where they are or when I will receive the glasses.
I do not understand why they were not completed in 7 to 10 business days. Why no one would explain anything to me or why they were shipped to my home instead of your office where it would be easier to pick up.
I will never use you organization again and maybe one day I will get the glasses.

The worst kind of place you can go to for your eyecare in Streamwood! All they care about is selling, selling, selling. I know for a fact that they sell you cheap quality lenses with crappy anti-reflective coating for a lot of money! Many patients buy the anti-glare that peels off in a few months, lenses look like they're scratched all over in a short period of time. Other good quality coatings look like new after years of wear and tear! Should I even get into the quality of their progressives? They use Sola products, which are cheaper, but they still charge premium for these lenses. That's the way they do business there! The doctors and opticians are pressured to sell, and then sell some more...
DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR GLASSES OR CONTACTS THERE, YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED FOR THEM!!!
IF YOU KNOW WHICH FRAME LOOKS GOOD ON YOU, YOU CAN ALWAYS ORDER IT ONLINE, USUALLY FOR HALF THE PRICE, INCLUDING LENSES!
THEIR VALUE PACKAGE IS A BUNCH OF BS! THE $40-$150 GLASSES REALLY COST THEM A FEW BUCKS! FRAMES THEY MAKE YOU CHOOSE COST A DOLLAR ON AVERAGE.
They have their own lab which supplies patients with the worst quality, cheapest lenses possible, it's also slow and not the best at what they do. They have a lot of remakes, and unhappy customers waiting for their glasses for weeks at a time. Other labs are much faster and better!
Management (Amy) is poorly educated, never went to college, and overpaid for sitting on her butt all day. Not the best person to solve problems, since solving any patient issues, and making buyers happy is not this company's priority.
Other places are extatic to serve you, can get you a better price, service, and never make it a big ordeal when you come in with a problem!!!
STREAMWOOD STAFF IS ALL NEW, AND PREVIOUSLY WORKED FOR STARBUCKS. THAT IS YOUR "QUALITY (NO EXPERIENCE) CARE" YOU'RE GETTING AFTER YOUR EYE EXAM. CONSTANT PEOPLE ROTATION SAYS EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE, EMPLOYEES ARE DISRESPECTED SIMPLY REPLACEABLE TO THIS COMPANY.
EVERYONE! I URGE YOU TO DO YOUR RESEARCH ABOUT LOCAL MARKET PRICES! BUY YOUR CONTACTS ONLINE, FIND THE BEST DEAL FOR YOUR GLASSES, SAVE MONEY, DON'T STUFF THEIR POCKETS!
They compensate their lazy management only, the rest of their employees are working for minimal wages doing all the work! They look for any reason not to use personal or sick days, instead they make employees use their vacation days. It's never a good time to take a vacation there, only a week at a time, only approved by regional manager. I've seen people being pressured to work after they booked their hotel and plane tickets, lost their money and had to stay at work, afraid of loosing their job. You're basically a legal slave there.
Many employees were not paid their full earnings, and waiting for years, or months at a time to "get it fixed" by lousy and lazy accounting.
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BUY GLASSES OR CONTACTS THERE!!!
One thing Rosin hates is an EO (exam only), they will do everything not to let you out the door without purchasing something. If you have public aid, you will be lucky to schedule an exam there, that's because they're not making money on you!
Also, their policy of not scheduling more than 2 people from one family at a time, is because they don't want any EO's! Regional managers pressure local offices about their EO rates.
