Irish folks celebrating the victory of their Irish politicians in dumping, the Serbian Governor of the State of Illinois. Illinois should become another Belfast, given the political mess which exists in Illinois. The Feds should declare Marshall Law in the State of Illinois. The new Illinois governor's name is PATRICK JOSEPH QUINN. Ha! HA! What a joke. "Irish Pat Quinn". Sounds nothing like "Blagojevich"!!!

The South WEST Side Irish are the most racist, bigoted people in world. As they seclude themselves from the rest of the world in their little bubble on the South WEST Side of Chicago.
I wonder when they will stop calling themselves the South Side Irish they haven’t lived there for ages.

I still don't understand why a city is SO divided by location. I'm all for having multiple parades, but why all of the hatred toward the same holiday? Do your parades, have fun, and enjoy. Just stop trying to "one-up" each other. Geesh. Each is unique in its own right. All I can say to everyone in Chicago, be glad you don't live in Naperville. ;)

Chicago has numerous parades for all ethnic groups. Bud Billiken for African Americans, Chicago Pride for gays, Greek, Mexican, Polish, Puerto Rican, Bangladesh parades to name a few. So some of you can stop your whining the city has your group covered.

Chicago and its suburbs till this day are considered the most segregated city in the United States. The Irish which began on the South side of Chicago refuse to live by any minorities or any other type of people and have slowly throughout the years moved to the South WEST suburbs and no longer live in the South Side of Chicago.
For years the boundary line for the South WEST Side Irish was Western. They would never go East of Western or North or Archer unless they were packed in a car with a bunch of Irishmen which usually only occurs on St Patrick’s Day or Sox events.
True story, years ago I was at my parents house with my son’s mother went into labor and she was taken to a hospital around 75th and Jeffery. She barely drove past Western and then all of a sudden when we hit 95th and Ashland she did a 360 in her SUV as she was sweating heavily because she went past Western threw some change at me pushed me out of the car and told me to take a bus.
Note the Polish and Irish have always been rivals in Chicago but both live very near each other and thankfully their little bubble is about to burst because Alsip, Crestwood, Evergreen and their last enclaves are being invaded and Orland really is their last refuge. After that, if they choose to go more west they need to stop calling themselves the South Side Irish the most racist and bigoted group in the nation.
Little history lesson people. Guess who was the only group of people to put fear in Martin Luther King? Was it the white Baptists in the south? No. It was the South Side Irish. Martin Luther King tried to march on 71st and Kedize in Marquette Park and quickly the South Side Irish scared him like no other people and he ended up fleeing and leaving Jesse Jackson in charge of his Chicago efforts.
Would it be fair to the good people who live near 75th and jeffrey for me to call them ALL lazy good for nothing gang-bangers?No it wouldn`t. And its not fair for you to make a blanket statement about everyone who lives in the Beverly/Mt Greenwood areas.
Don`t pretend you know the area you speak of.
And what happened 50 years ago near marquette park was indicative of racial tension everywhere, not just the southside of Chicago. And your hatered is helping segregation HOW? Love thee neighbor, try that.

The Northwest Side Irish Parade is by far the most family oriented parade the city has to offer...no bars on the route and always a fun time at the review stand with the Murray family hosting the event surrounded by neighborhood kids dancing and enjoying the music and annoucements

You should study your history a little better. The Irish died of starvation because their English, Scottish and traitor Irish brethren were eating all the food of the land and stream. There was plenty of food but not for the Irish. 800 years of foreign rule. We know a thing about Apartheid brother. When the civil rights leaders were putting together their plans they came to the Irish to see what they had done. The starvation of the Irish is one of the great genocidial tradedies of history.

Most crop failures, are due to biological or weather issues. The Potato Blight was also attributed to being a significant factor in The Potato Famine.

Sounds like they knew a thing or two about the Blues.
