There is literally tons of stuff going on sweetie. lol.

Global warming is a big one. Then there is the oil industry, the push for certifying Dental providers, and the usual Native rights tyes of things. I would do a search in the "news" (googl has a okay thing) and type in some of the towns or villages you are interested in . Natives live mostly in the smaller villages..not the big cities.

Its not just a lack of doctors, Alaska seems to attract mediocre, lazy, stupid, bottom-of-the-class doctors who only come here to practice medicine as a necessity to pay for their hobby of fishing and/or hunting (losers).

There are a few good ones out there, but I have had my fill of weak medical care and am moving elsewhere to find better medical help.

You think there's a shortage now, wait until you get government health care.

Who's going to put all the time, money and effort to become a doctor then?

If you want to be a bureaucrat, it is much easier to become a senator or representitive. You only have to work and term or two - and the retirement is awesome.
