Peter Mustico, member of Improved Order of Red Men and the agent for the Samoset Hall corporation, says allowing Sam Kurshan into Red Men's Hall was "A huge mistake" but doesn't blame city councilman Robert McConnell for it.

Mustico, a member of the Improved Order of Red Men Samoset Tribe since 1945 blames only Kurshan for the shame he's brought to Vallejo and to the Red Men. He notes that the recall attempt was "The childish attempt of a bitter vindictive fool" and that his antics on the Red Men's float brought "shame" to the venerable order.

Mustico says that many in the dozen or so members want him out and that he's a pariah amongst the group. "No one wants to deal with him. He's basically a non-person", says Mustico, "ever since he publicly attacked McConnell and his family."

A move is afoot to get Kurshan out of the group and to have him black balled. "No one wants to deal with an unstable person like that, so we keep it under wraps", he said.

How many members does the "Improved" Order of Red Men have here in Vallejo? If a member in otherwise good standing brings shame to the group and said member through his actions and conduct is a non-person to many within the group, take a vote to either reprimand him or throw him out and be done with it.

At least that is how other organizations conduct their business instead of airing dirty laundry in the arena of public opinion!

But we are talking about sam now aren't we. He seems to cause this type of reaction in a broad spectrum of people.

That may be the case, however it is not simply about an individual but a whole organization that although honorable, may receive unfavorable publicity due to circumstances that are and were preventable from the start.

How and why was Mr. Kurshan accepted and allowed to become a member? It is not up to just one member to vouch for a prospective applicant but acceptance is voted on by the whole membership or members present at the time the vote is taken.

..or at least that was the path to membership in the organizations I was seeking entry to.

while it's true that the membership or those present at a meeting must vote an applicant into this organization, it is not unusual for the majority of members to take the word of a well respected individual regarding an inductee. this was the case with sammy and robert mcconnell. the red men are in a serious decline with only a handful of members. desperate you might say. councilmember mcconnell now regrets his endorsement and involvement with sammy.

There are only two people who could have concocted and posted such a silly thread as this one, Diana Lang, a bitter spoiled sport who is upset about being squirted by me with water from the Redman's float during the 4th of July parade and Paula McConnell, an eccentric womnan whose own husband is leery of being seen with in public.

Peter Mustico is a friend of mine and he has said no such thing as was stated above.

For the record, Peter supported the recall.
There is no movement to "get me out" of the Redmen either. In fact I am their top officer.

To the person that created this, you will never cause me any negative repercussion on any level. you will never shut me up.

The best suggestion I could ever make to you is do not engage anyone you believe to be me here on Topix or be prepared for my response which will never waiver!

It seems regrettable that organizations as a whole are on the decline due to lack of membership and willingness to get involved in community issues and traditions.

Like with all items that the majority of people does look down on and considers old fashioned and out dated, we will only recognize their value once they are lost.

It may be painful to clean house in an organization that does lack new blood, however to allow disrespectful behavior to tarnish an otherwise stellar membership does not bode well for future growth. Making past errors in judgment public, does not either….

FOTFLMAO!!!! be prepared for your response? lies? juvenile name calling? references to people's genitalia? false claims? you mean those kinds of responses? we've heard your rants, sammy. no ones impressed. your rants led to losing, TWICE, in elections, a failed recall attempt, numerous restraining orders, jail time, and the disgust and disdain of the community. so much for your responses. LOL.
as for pete mustico being a friend of yours, like eric raahauge is a friend of yours? FOTFLMAO!!!

This may be worthy of consideration if it wasn't for the glaring fact that the majority of your nasty and most vile comments and attacks have been under your anonymous posts. So declaring that you are some how brave by posting your less vile comment by name is a joke. I would like the smug remarks regarding your standing in the group if I were you. Remember your title, Epic Fail Five. How'd that recall work out for you?

And here's a free clue for you. Many people will smile at you while trying to move away from you. It's easier than telling you what they really think about you. Now that you have smeared Mrs. Mustico's name and reputation around town and brought Mr. Mustico's name into your embarrassing recall, I rather doubt that they are your friend. But thanks for the heads up. Your dragging this recognized organization while serving as it's president into your negative politics is noteworthy. Aren't they a non-profit?
