I don't know where they're getting these cities from, but I'm in Atlanta...not Los Angeles,CA...heaven forbid!

Does anyone know what financial support FEMA or any other agency will offer to landowners to replant their timber? Obviously life and personal property are of the utmost importance. I feel for those who have lost their homes. But the tremendous loss in timber values to private landowners is financially catastrophic, especially those not financially prepared for reforestation costs. The whole situation is a tragedy.
Thanks to all of the firefighters for trying to stop this devastation.

I would like to chastise one fireman interviewed on the news. When asked if he was tired he replied,"No, I'm having FUN." I appreciate that he enjoys his work but people watching are losing everything they've got and millions of dollars worth of timber. We'd rather he have his FUN somewhere else. Just put the damn fire out and shut up. No offense meant to any other fireman but this one spoke before thinking.

There are slideshow shots on www.satilla.org/fireupdate/default.asp I believe. I've looked at so many websites but I think this is the right one. Also some of the Jaxville TV station websites have videos. Try www.wjxx.com and www.news4jax.com .

It is wonderful how this community has come together and I really thank the community and the firefighters...They have gone above and beyond the call of duty, some of them feed one of my fellow workers chickens Saturday..the fire reached their back yard and the firemen worked hard to save their home..God bless them..There is still a great need here.. the firemen have need and the people who lost things have needs, plus there are still alot of people who are staying with family and friends and cant go home...I am going to try to organize a yard sale at my church to give the proceeds to the families who lost so much of their belongins...we all need to do all we can do for them...God bless you all..and pray for them and their families...

i live in ware co. next to the swamp/wildlife refuge and we see alot of smoke(the worst so far) the ashes are not as bad now, we are told that the fires are about a mile into the forest behind us and to stay ready to evac., the fire and forrestry were posted on our land and all around on thursday, now they are located just down the road at kings and furture southeast of our property off jax. hwy. i hear that hoboken has alot of active fire burning on the south side of brunswick hwy. i rode out swamp road and 8 mile post road today, saw about 6-8 homes destroyed and alot of timber, miles of burnt woods along the roads, god bless everyone who helped to save several homes that would have surely been lost were sitting amoung charred debrese all around. please keep vigulant prayers for all in harms way and always be thankful for your blessings, god bless you each and all. thank you fire releif and protection providers from here and all around, be safe and blessed.

THERE IS NO SCHOOL TUESDAY MAY 1st because over 75 percent of parents are not sending there kids to school!!! i only had 9 students today and i talked to the board of education and they said there would be no school in brantley county on may 1st!!

yes it is for brantley,i talked to the board of education at about 10:35 a.m and i was fussin about me only teachin to 9 children when ill have to reteach it because have of the class wasnt even there!!
