If Marvin Nichols Reservoir is built by Dallas on the Sulphur River in northern East Texas , dozens of small communities will be inundated, ending a rich part of the region's history.

Good article on Cuthand. I remember as a child playing on the Cuthand Creek. Many of my ancestors are buried in the Cemetery that if Reservoir is built will be under water. Cuthand has some of the most beautiful woodlands in Red River County. How sad that the area my ancestors built The Mauldins, The Duffees, The Latimers, The Eudys, and the Mankins to name just a few were not mentioned in the article. Many are buried in the Cuthand Cemetery, and would be lost forever under a lake.
