Hoe, exactly, does a body wrapped in a blanket sit 15 feet off of the side of a busy road like 31 for 2-3 days without being noticed?

The person responsible probably dumped it at night when the highway is nearly empty and you can see headlights approaching miles away. Then, most people are traveling 60-80mph and don't glance off the shoulder to see whats laying around.

Heck I would've noticed! Not to mention what about the highway cleanup crews or even the SCDOT, they are always on those roads...someone should've seen that in 2 days! Sounds like something off of CSI...lol
|
I drive right by there everyday and when I drove past this afternoon about that time SCDOT was just getting out of his truck. I am pretty sure it was the SCDOT that found the body. Where it was found is a pretty steep embankment and it would be difficult to see it unless you were really looking. And honestly who is looking down an embankment when you are driving that fast on 31. I say good job SCDOT!! |

I hear ya Born and Raised. I was just saying right where it was it kinda drops right off. Plus its close to where all the lanes merge. Heck I have driven past it two to three times without seeing it. I am not sure how, guess if you arent looking for it its hard to see it. we may have all seen a blanket and just thought it was just a blanket. Kinda creepy to think we have been driving past it all this time isnt it?

I drove past there this morning saw that maroon car there wasn't anything around it. I drove home this afternoon and the cops were there. Tonight on the news it showed the blanket wrapped body. That was not there this morning.

yeah I get that too...but when you watch CSI as much as I do, you tend to look for oddness! LMAO, & well thats oddness! Who knows I probably would've missed it to since most likely would've been yelling @ my kid or something. Strange though ya know. |

I travel 31 from 544 to 22 every morning..you would be surprised what I see. I did happen to drive this route the past few mornings and never say a body wrapped in a blanket.
|
|
I agree...unless it was well hidden, I never saw a body wrapped in a blanket. However, I did see a car in the ditch near that area that, apparently, left the south bound lane and crossed the median. |

harper, in my opinion, the speed limit could be 70mph. i think the 60 between 501 and 544 is too slow.

I drove past there yesterday and didn't see any blanket....Also drove past monday and tuesday as well

and we wonder how Myrtle Beach was ranked so high for murders last year! The police department need to start worrying about more than parking violations down there and start trying to do something about REAL crime. If this sort of thing continues, people are going to start going somewhere else on vacation! Who wants to spend their hard-earned vacation money on an area with a reputation like this? We are seeing more and more of this in the area. WAKE UP!!!!

This statement angers me! Many of my close friends work for the MBPD and they work their butts off! The stories they tell would shock you. Just because you only hear about the small things doesn't mean they have to deal with BIG things on a daily basis... My closest friend has has been in many dangerous situations where I probably would have had a heart attack and died if I were in his shoes! Not only do they put their lives on the line, but they put their lives on HOLD as well. They work sometimes up to 90 hours a week, and basically have no lives, all so that they can protect US! So, stop being critical and judgemental and start seeing things realistically and rationally. There is no need to be ignorant and insult the officers of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. |

You need to get a new life and stop blaming every crime on Memorial weekend and the bikers. |

Geez...we're sure having a rash of violent crime and murder. :(

I have to agree with the posts about not seeing her. I drive 31 everyday, go a little over the speed limit but not by much, have an older SUV, and have kids and am a huge "people watcher" and usually can say I pay a lot of attention of what is going on around me and did see anything out of the ordinary. You doubters can say all you want but truth be told 99% of the people, cops, road workers, ordinary people, who travel 31 did not see it and that does not make them bad or wrong in anyway. MBPD do a great job and go the extra mile for the community. If you actually look around at the other large tourist areas you will find more crime and such than we have here. I was robbed in Orlando, hubcaps were stolen in Dallas, etc but nothing here!(Knock on wood, lol!)
