Why does a 17 year old even have access to a gun? Guns are not even supposed to be in the hands of children, they're supposed to be kept locked up or at least a trigger lock should be in use. What's the rest of the story?

Those of us who know how to get a prayer through lets pray for both of there families, her soul and the 17 year old that she may come and do the right thing and give herself up.

You are correct, guns don't kill people, people kill people, however, it most certainly is not a stupid question to ask why a 17 year old girl was in possession of a gun......that was a stupid comment.

Irresponible people carrying guns is the way of life in the Conway/MB area. Just a look at the crime stats will tell. I feel for the family, no one should be shot down over meaningless domestic scubbles.

Amen, I agree, people just want ot know. But is was a very stupid and hateful sounding comment. Again, where's the concern for these people's greiving families..It seems if anyone wants to have access to a gun, anymore, that it not a problem for them to obtain one. Let's stop this bickering back and forth on here, and name calling to each other about things like this.

Atleast with a knife she could have defended herself. Guns are dangerous because you don't have to do much thinking to kill someone, it only takes one second to pull the trigger. Poor girl.

From Myrtle Beach - Please pray for both families and all those left behind. People kill people, but nevertheless, guns appear to be too easily accessible, especially to young people. This tragedy cannot be undone, and so many lives are changed because of a momentary burst of anger.

29 year old single with four kids? 17 year old with a gun, possibly killing over a dispute due to a male? I do feel sorry for the dead mother, but how was she raising her children? Where were the father(s). As for guns. It should be an automatic 20 year sentence anytime a gun is used in a crime and it should extend to an automatic life sentence anytime a murder is committed.

In the story it says the shot ended up happening over a man,the lady shot was 29 and a 17, 17 year old shot her, they shouldn't even be talking to men in the same age group, this town is has major issues. All the people getting shot over dumb stuff, i really dont wanna leave my house, i mean i might get shot cause someone don't like my hair! My prayers are with this family. And i hope the KID who shot her gets what she deserves, just like the KIDS who shot Corey.

This is a terrible situation someone who was trying to get her life on track gunned down by a child with evil intentions.I hope that conway police will catch this person instead of sweeping it under the rug like normal.I have no confidence in their police department and I hope they can renew the people's faith in them instead of wasting my tax money. My heart goes out to that family and I hope that GOD can ease the pain in this family's heart's.

I can't believe there is anyone on here questioning where a 17 yr old girl in Conway got a gun... I guarantee there are 14 yr olds with guns in Conway running around. Some people need to stop being so naive and understand in todays world anyone can be packing heat and at anytime kill anyone... it ain't nutin but a G THANG...

Surely you don't think this is a recent development. Historically, it has always been easy to get a gun in the US and particularly in the southern US.

Guns are very easy to come by around here. Knives and clubs and other weapons are too though. This incident has nothing to do with the weapon and everything to do with the violent act of a young woman.

Truly sad indeed - but not about the weapon of choice at all.

I'll add too that 17 years old is not "a child" - therein lies a problem with our society too. It's time to stop treating 16-17 year olds like little kids that aren't responsible for their actions.

Really? Is this because you think that people who are killed with a gun are more dead than people killed with a knife or a baseball bat? Is it because shooting someone is somehow more criminal than running them over with a car? Or poisoning them?

We humans are a violent lot. It's not the weapons that make us violent. It's that we're violent that makes us select weapons. It's also not the weapon that is the crime - anything can be turned to a weapon given the desire to do so.
