This is why we need an executive order from President Obama and Congress to pass ENDA and SNDA.

Anti-discrimination policies protecting the LGBT community are certainly needed in Jacksonville, Florida, one of the last major cities in the state of Florida and I believe the nation too, that still doesn't have protections for the LGBT community. There is an ordinance meant to protect sexual orientation and gender identity and expression in employment, housing, and public accommodations in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida people are trying to get passed but it has a lot of opposition from religious conservatives.

Read all about it here:

Mayor Alvin Brown's position on human rights ordinance could be tricky

I think this nation, every state, county, city, and town needs an ordinance like this.

If her employer was intensely stupid enough to put it in writing that she was not permitted to discuss her spouse at work as one of her probationary goals, their insurance company had better cut this woman a really big check and soon. If someone handed me what is alleged to have been the conditions of her continued employment, I wouldn't have waited for the inevitable firing, I'd have had that winning lottery ticket in the hands of an attorney so fast, it would make their heads spin.

Hick, you place your perversion above child welfare. A homosexual should NEVER be in authority over young people. The priest abuse scandal sadly proved that fact!

You are confused. Pedophilia is a sexual paraphilia and homosexuality is a sexual orientation and they are not one and the same.

Honest Abel, letting girls dress in a non-sterotypical way is not deviant behavior.
Simon, abusers usually claim to be stra8 and abuse is not confined to gay persons.
Employers who want to fire a person for their orientation will do and will use any reason...bringing in tomboy clothes, pictures on my-space or any reason. Personal experience for me was my previous employer wanted to fire me, he used the excuse of health&safety as I was wearing drop ear-rings. Girls where I worked wear them still, so not h&s.

Thus spake the individual placing his perversions of "Christianity", "logic" and "reason" above child welfare and once again taking a stand which turns morality on its ass.

Other than yourself, according to whom?

Actually, the priest abuse scandal proved either you don't mind spouting very ill-informed opinions or you have no moral qualms about lying yo butt off.

I know I must have given you links to this and even the report itself before, so claiming that you didn't know you were wrong seems a little whiffy. What the priest abuse scandal proved was that there was no single cause or predictor in the abuse and that while the vast majority of victims were male, the vast majority of perpetrators were heterosexual men. Were there Gay men who sexually abused children, yes, but they were a small percentage of all the perpetrators and responsible for a similarly small percentage of the incidents. They also were a very small percentage of the Gay men in the priesthood and laity. Coincidentally, as the Church had their own version of DA/DT in the late 60's and 70's and the percentage of Gay men in the priesthood increased, the incidents of sexual abuse actually decreased significantly.

You'll have to forgive the intellectually dishonest one, his raison d'etre is; fact, logic, reason, ethics and anything resembling morality be damned, he is here to annoy people as much as possible.

Hick, making up lies just makes you and your horrible hate based radical homosexual cause look pathetic.

I've already posted links to the most exhaustive study on this subject. Do you need to see it again, Hick?

The priest abuse scandal was over 80% HOMOSEXUAL in nature.

It primarily involved homosexual abuse of minor young men and NOT pedophilia.

When the Catholic Church clamped down on homosexual priests, the abuse trickled down to near zero.

Any you wonder why all of the parents in your trailer park don't even let their kids bike past your rusty trailer?

The question is can you prove that I have lied? The answer is no.

Why yes David, I would love to see what you are going to pass off as "the most exhaustive study" on the subject. Meanwhile, I have provided you with a link to the study commissioned by the USCCB which had access to the Church's records. I'd be fascinated to read a better study.

True, the abuse victims were over 80% male and the perpetrators were all male, but the reality you are failing to grasp is that "homosexuality" can occur without the presence of actual homosexuals. The vast majority of perpetrators self-identified and were viewed by others as HETEROSEXUAL. These were crimes of opportunity in a sub-culture where young boys routinely spend a great deal of time in the company of an adult male aiming for "celibacy" and occasionally missing badly. According to the rules these men chose to live by, there is no such thing as an "appropriate" sex partner, what should have they expected from those who would act out against such a rule? The victimization of those who were most readily available. Read the John Jay studies, you'll realize how little you actually know.

FALSE, the abuse rates began falling in the 80's into the 90's, this coincided with an INCREASE of Gay men in the priesthood, not the late 90's crackdown against them.

Nah, I just wonder why you are so desperate to cling to this warped fantasy of yours about me. I guess if it makes you feel better about yourself, knock yourself out, but it's pretty pathetic, if you ask me.
