Thanks for bringing back great memories! The Dixie, The Co-Ed and Hot Dog Frank's in Annville, and The Super 15 in Cleona were all places to "be seen." Driving the Loop was a right and it was all reflected beautifully on Happy Days. Where have those happy days gone? Now we learn who got shot or arrested in a drug bust instead of who's dating who. Sad.

Nice deal, hope they have nice weather. Lot's of good memories of the cup. The original was at i think 2nd ave and cumberland and it was called the dixie cup. On a Friday and Saturday night you had to be seen there.

"had to be seen there." Like we need to see you in a mental hospital...

But you don't always get what you wish for...

I remember lime stingers and pork barbecue before we'd go to the Key to watch a drive-in-movie.

While I'm no fan of Mr. Barondick, I hope he and his old buddies have a good time at the reunion. Everybody's entitled to a good time every now and then, as long as they're not stepping on anybody else's toes.

The dixie sure brings back many memories of the 50's when it was for sure a good time to be a teen & growing up, I do believe the orginal dixe was a small building at 8th St next to the RR tracks on SW corner & it actually looked like a dixie cup with a large straw coming out of roof & than moved out to where it finally closed up, If memory serves me right 2 brothers came up from Reading area to open up the dixie starting at 8th & RR, Bill & Harry Hassel ?????????/ wether we went skatimg at the Casino , went to the drive in, or the dance at the moose where the historical society is now or a playground dance we always ended up at the dixie to watch the burnouts or at times a heated drag race right out front down towards Myerstown, what fun days back than from the 50;s with the flathead fords with the glasspacks to the middle 50's with the introduction of the OHV V8;s in the 55 chevy & Pontiac & of course the Y-Block fords & the plymouth & Dodges that led into the 60;s muscle cars which could " that drove the copp in the 53 ford nuts ?
Yup, BB-Q, French fries with gravey & a Choc Milk shake & than on to a dragrace some where near by almost every night,
Thank you

When I get to the mental institution I would like to look you up to say hello, how will I know which patient you are?

Sure does bring back a lot of good memories, burning out from the Dixie up to the furniture store at the light, turn around do the same thing. Drive " Hitler" (Bill Kimmel) crazy, watching Raymond trying to keep tabs on how many times you circled the Dixie. Doing the loop, Eat Well Diner, Key Drive In, Super 15, BBQ Cottage in Harrisburg, Moose & Playground Dances. Meet my "WIFE at the Dixie. These were all great places to show off my "HOT MUSTANGS", would love to still have them today. Brings back a lot of "GOOD MEMORIES".

Came along a bit later, "our loop" was the dixie, then up thru town, to MacDonalds, hang out there, and then back down to the dixie. Pizza burgers, fries, and cherry cokes! Era was a bit different, but it still was a great time!

So what is the report for, School, the paper? I would love to read about the bowling center from before my time. I've seen 1 picture from Cedar Lanes back in 1959 when the entrance was in the middle of the building...

LDN must have stopped it. If you look at their articles there no longer is anywhere to comment except for facebook. I guess it was getting too ugly!!!
