Look at this partisan crap by Steve Snyder. The LDNEWS really sucks when it comes to reporting the actual facts.

Only 19 percent favor reducing state funding for local school districts; 28 percent favor cutting state funding in half for the state's public universities.

The survey also found similar low approval ratings for Mr. Corbett, President Barack Obama and the state's two U.S. senators. Mr. Obama received the most support, at 35 percent, followed by Mr. Corbett at 31 percent, Democratic Sen. Bob Casey with 29 percent and Republican Sen. Pat Toomey at 28 percent.

Not sure what you mean by "partisan crap." Whose side are you saying he's on?
I read the F&M poll, and I don't see any inaccuracies.

If Kanye West lived in Pennsylvania he would say: "Tom Corbett hates public schools."

And he'd be correct.

No mystery here; Tom Corbett is a traditional, fat-cat, crony-capitalism/corporate Republican who takes care of his friends and donors first, and will address the needs of ordinary Pennsylvanians only if they do not conflict with his favorites... and it isn't too much trouble, of course.

78% people living in Pennsylvania hate what Go. Corbett and the Republican Party is doing to public schools and state colleges.

Going against the wishes of 78% of the people is one quick way to lose your elected goverment job.

Pa. State Senator Mike Folmer might as well take that state constitution he carries in his pocket and burn it up. The man sure as heck isn't abiding by the document.

Charters are independent public schools supported by tax dollars but established by private, nonprofit organizations. Free from many educational mandates

http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/20...

Public School System

Section 14.

The General Assembly shall provide for the maintenance and support of a thorough and efficient system of public education to serve the needs of the Commonwealth.

Public School Money Not Available to Sectarian Schools

Not only does Pa. State Senator Mike and his fellow Republicans want to force taxpayers to fund unconstitutional private charters schools they want to force the taxpayers to unconstitutionally use or taxpayer money to bus the kids to the private school of their choosing.

http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/CSM/2011...

Section 15.

No money raised for the support of the public schools of the Commonwealth shall be appropriated to or used for the support of any sectarian school. C. National Guard

Gov Corbett is on the right track for sure. About time someone has the balls to say no no no more to the teachers. Corbett cuts not just one place but every place. Good job I say. Corbett is helping the rich to remember were they came from and who made them rich. LOVE IT.

Oh, yeah, Corbett will help "the rich to remember were they came from and who made them rich." They know where they came from, and from whom they stole their riches... and they aren't goin' back, fool, and you're goin' stay poor. Another poor numnutz voting against their economic interests! You've proven, as Winston Churchill famously said: "The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter."

Are you insane? Teachers? Seriously? Your post is so ludicrous that I am at a loss on how to respond without wanting to just call you a douche.
corporate welfare

Lancaster, PA

#20 Mar 19, 2011
Here we go again folks. The Pa. state legislature is trying to change all of our laws that currently do not require that the taxpayer to provide transportation to privately owned (for profit) charter schools and force the taxpayers to pay all the costs.

http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/CSM/2011...

This is more taxpayer funded corporate welfare forced on taxpayers to provide to private businesses.
