I was thinking the same thing. All it takes is one person to state they are no longer going to donate to an organization, and the organization quites up: shows what really matters $$$.

We have no living quarters in the fire department at all, so...if you care to wait an additional 10-15 minutes for crews to reach the station in the middle of a snowstorm, remember that when you need an ambulance.
what about when i need one and you are listed as "Out Of Service"?
Is that why you rarely scratch a call, because when you dont have a crew you go OSS?( thats a good thing)

How many hours per year are you OSS?
When talking about not scratching, response times etc. why not just tell the whole story? This is not congress.

If you are donating, you have every right to know what is going on with it. In all reality, if you want to see what we have for equipment and why, contact us and I will be happy to go over things with you.
We tried to deploy AED's throughout the community via the Police Units. With their schedule, one was usually floating around and close by when needed. As you know, the reasons they are not floating around anymore are beyond our control. Have we figured out what exactly to do with them now that we have possession of them again, no.
The Heidelberg Lions Club bought those AEDs. We also donate proceeds from our Health Scan to the SEMS.

The Lions clubs also bought a ton of things for the fire company over the years. We have also donated to the Fire Police.

Andto think we don't have a qsingle member from either organization in our club.

I am assuming you feel there should be members from both in the Lions? if so couldn't the SEMS and Fire Co say the same?

possibly but the average age of the lions is 67 Not exactly prime condition for emergency work.

The point I am making is neither of these organizations got to their strengths on their own. They all need to step back and look at the big picture. Its not about them its about the community.

If the volunteers think they should be shown some gratitude, let them thank those who keep them where they are.

agreed but alot of the active fireman are pretty busy not only running calls but the fundraising aspect. I'd much rather see those community members active in nothing help you out. One thing we all have in common though is the community mostly supports us.

and for the record it was not anyone claming to be with the fire dept that said they would like the thank yous...
