CRASH: A 2006 Chrysler driven by Anne M. Beegle, 30, of 717 Hockley Ave., Lebanon, was eastbound on Route 117, near the Route 72 underpass, struck a guide rail then spun across the roadway into a ditch at 4:25 p.m. Saturday. Police said she was not hurt, but her car was towed from the scene. Cornwall and Mt. Gretna fire companies and First Aid and Safety Patrol assisted police.

CRASH: Dianne Buchkowski, 42, of 232 N. Oak St., Lititz, lost control of her vehicle while traveling down the Route 72 North ramp to Route 117 at 12:16 a.m. Saturday. Her vehicle went up an embankment, police said. She was not hurt, but the vehicle was towed, police said.

Hey Cornwall PD - how about a little speed enforcement on 117. Seems to be a lot of accidents where the speed limit is 25MPH!

Who said alcohol wasn't a factor in either of these. At least that what was reported on the first accident per county dispatch records.

Guess you want the cops to keep an eye on how fast they drink then?

And yet neither mentions either driver for being cited for anything. And since the LDNews loves to air dirty laundry we can only assume no DUI here folks, just speed.

It is my understanding that alcohol was involved in one of the incidents. It can take a few days before the DUI information is noted in the paper.

Well let's see. A week later, no charges, not even a traffic citation. Of course the guardrail is still busted up and the fender is still sitting up on the bank, but otherwise, perhaps these accidents never happened. Mysteries abound.
