Take away the legal tobacco and you lose the smoke screen that has permitted hiding the illegal so far. That concept is, perhaps, a bit too complex for you.
look around every thing illegal is still here and being used. Drugs are all over the place, prostitution is every where. Same with tobacco it will not go any where. The crooks who it is illegal for them to have guns, have guns. Making any thing illegal just make more criminals that the taxpayer has to pay for. If people want it, it will not go away. You live in a dream world.
A person who wants to smoke will smoke. Alcohol prohibition did not get rid of alcohol it just made the criminal very rich like the Kennedys. The smoking bans are making criminals very rich today. China is getting rich off illegal cigarettes.

We believe we intercept about 15 contraband cigarette crossings per week, while there is an average of 110 per day, seven days a week," Sgt. Michael Harvey explained.

He said the amount of cigarettes that hit the black market every week would fill another 50 containers.

Look around. Does any of the items you compare smoking to result in several minutes' worth of clouds of smoke, twenty, thirty, or forty times a day per user?

Come to that, of those that produce smoke at all, to what extent are they shielded by potential confusion with the legal presence of tobacco smoke?

Easy to hide smoking, many people today smoke and no one knows. Ash trays that suck smoke into them. Or a fan running dissipates the smoke. A very small business here the people smoke inside and no one knows except a few like me that they trust. Making tobacco illegal will just increase crime and taxes to pay for fighting the crime. If you read the article I posted they only catch a very small percentage of the smugglers. They said they catch 15 a week out of 110 a day. The more people out of work the more that will get into crime to survive.

Take away the legal cigarettes and there will be nothing but illegal cigarettes. People will not stop smoking just because there are illegal. Alcohol was made illegal, drugs were made illegal and prostitution was made illegal and none went away. Just made more people crooks and filled up our jails. It cost the taxpayers trillions to fight it and house all the people in jail.
In Chicago, until recently, hand guns were illegal. Only criminals had guns. Law abiding citizens were easy targets.

Look at England and Australia where all guns have been banned. Yet gun crime has went way up. Only the honest citizens are now unarmed.Easy pickings for the criminal. Switzerland where everyone has to own a gun, they have almost no gun crimes. One of the reasons our founding fathers put in the constitution "the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." The other reason was to protect us from a corrupt government. People think banning or making something illegal will make it go away. But all it does is create more crime and cost the taxpayers more money.

When I was visiting rural Colorado, the police enforce the smoking ban in bars. With the "make my day" gun laws, they have nothing else to do but hassle bars and set up speed traps.
