This is a really good point. We really should start caring about each other a little bit more. Just imagine what kind of trend we could start if everyone did just one small kind thing for a stranger when they could.

The guy was also a convicted criminal and did prison time.

I don't think anyone would invite someone like this into their home, unless they didn't care about keeping their possessions.

And I know that I would NEVER invite 5 Ducklings or Artic into my own home now for ANY reason either! You're both heartless b.astards! I'll agree with George H & LMS on this one.

I actually picked a guy up this morning who was walking along the road. drove by the first time thinking he is going to get run over in this bad weather. Then about 1 mile past I am still thinking that if I heard he were run over would I feel that on my conciense and the answer was yes. Although to be honest if my wife and kids were in the car, that changes everything. End of story he made it safe to his destination and I to mine. It is always a judgment call though. Unfortunatly.

I don't feel comfortable having a convicted criminal in my home around my children. I guess if that makes me heartless, so be it. But my children and our personal safety come first.

Did you ever consider that maybe this guy was homeless and a convicted criminal because of the way he CHOSE to live his life?
And I'm willing to bet he was either really drunk or under the influence of drugs (or both) and passed out in the snow.

Sorry, I guess I'm one of the odd one's posting here - I'm a person who would actually try to "save" a human life opposed to having them die - how silly of me.

After viewing some of the stuff you've posted - maybe you need to look in a mirror and ask yourself that same question?(hint, hint)

I don't want to see anyone die but my families safety comes first. Why is that wrong? If you would really like to house a homeless man, more power to you but don't get nasty with someone for not wanting to do the same thing.

I saw nothing in the article stating this man was homeless - all I would have done is check on this guys condition - make a simple phone call to get him help & let him in stay in my warm car until help arrived. THAT would/could have saved his life.

Do you do background checks on everyone that enters your home? If not, you'd best start doing it with even your relatives - most times it's the one's you least expect. Have a nice life & please enjoy your in home safety, yourself - and your apparent fear of helping anyone in need - for your families safety.

Well there goes duck again ...i sure hope "all" of her children never get in trouble when they grow up because they wont ever be welcomed in their own home.
To those of you who have not read all of duck's posts from the past, let me clue you in,she has no use for homeless people, unless of course they have at some point in their life ,risked their life to save others. To her, Lonnie Gordon's life was as useless as Richard Goss' life was.
And NO DUCK, I'm not trying to stir up things with you,but since you have now stated twice about how you feel about the homeless,(now and last summer)why do you even post about them, then get mad when people get nasty with you, as you say ?
His crime was uttering & publishing, are you afraid if you had him in your house he'd steal a pen?
We need more people in the world like Tulip,George and LMS...That really care and not just "act" like they do...

I do not appreciate the language you used on this forum. You know nothing about these people so don't be so quick to judge them or me.

As to my other posts, what might be wrong with them? I always try to be reasonable, without personal attacks.
