Brain dead mom gives birth to twins while on life support

In a rare procedure, a 26-year-old woman who had been declared brain dead gave birth to twins at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

With the era of sleep behind them, mothers of twins usually go brain dead afterward.

That was the only humor I could come up with on this. What a great family. We know those babies will be cherished above and beyond because that's how they got here.
Sweet that mom named them before collapsing. Now they'll know that she too was already cherishing their arrival.

this is not an offbeat news story it is both good and bad.
it is good that the babies were able to be saved and have a life but also bad they will never know thier mothers love.

I didn't catch where the family was picking up the tab. Am sorry, I realize this a matter of the heart. But there is also cold reality. The medical bill has to be unthinkable.
