This company does NOT honor their quotes for service. I asked them to come out to provide an estimate to replace a water heater and they gave me a price to which I agreed. I then scheduled the service and when they completed the install I was giving an invoice for $150.00 more than agreed. When I challenged them by stating that "you guys came out and provided me a quote before you ever began the job," their response was "we're not really sure how we came up with that price." I told them I was not going to let them bait & switch me and they finally agreed to the price I was quoted. On a different note, the owner of the company, Joan Schmitz is a zealous Republican and does nothing but downgrade anyone who does not agree with her political beliefs.

In response to Sir David Williams: Quotes are just that an estimate of the job. I feel bad that you have a negative outlook on Cox Plumbing, but to attack someone that you do not know is really insensitive. You owe Joan an apology for your remark. She has her opinions and last time I checked we still had freedom of speech and that includes opinions.

Ww have used Cox on a regular basis and have always found them to be very reliable with costs coming in as quoted unless we request changes or they in advance inform us that things are not as they appeared. In the 20 years we have delt with them they have always responded to our phone calls, and finished jobs as agreed to. I use them both for commercial and residential jobs. While I have gotten other prices they always have been the most competitive. Also they have NEVER shared with me their political affiliation nor their political views.

I have had the opportunity to deal with Cox Plumbing in the past several years. They are always prompt, courteous, and the price is always within reason(or better when compared to others I've been quoted by). I will continue to use them as they are local and I believe in using local companies being a small business owner myself. I have never know what political party they have affiliated themselves with, but I do like that they are Republicans now that Lord Williams has mentionewd it! Keep up the great work!!!

We were so pleased with their work, that I wrote a column about them! Great people, great service and more than fair prices.

I came accross this website looking to contact cox plumbing because they did such a great job for us the first time around. This guy from FL not only doesn't understand how estimates work but what it means to be a decent person. You complained and got your $150. Now stay in FL.

Cox Plumbing was recommended to me. The work I had done was simple and was done well. Plumber was there around 3.5 hours and was courteous and professional. But I did not ask for an estimate and if I had known what they charge I would have hired another. I was charged $110 for the first half hour. Then charged $120 for every hour after that. Adding in a $15 trip charge, and with parts cost and tax the total was over $620. I am sure you can find good plumbers whose per hour charges are more reasonable.

Cox plumbing is unreliable! My husband called for a water heater quote two weeks ago and they never returned our call. I guess losing one customer's water heater business doesn't mean that much to them. But the bad comments I make to others about them being unreliable will sure hurt. We obviously went with a more reliable company who not only came out the same day for a quote but is installing our water heater right now.

We have used them twice in past 3 months. Once for sink leak repair, once for copper plumbing/basement leak. Prompt, fair price (actually charged us less than estimate) and very professional. We would use them again and recommned them without hesitation.

I have used cox plumbing several times and have recommended them as well. The story is always the same excellent work no mess left behind. Done a fair price.
