This was one of the worst places that I have ever been employed at. I agree with everyone above. The supervisors are assholes. This place is so strict. This was the only job available at the time. Their turnover rate is horrible. Their HR department are a bunch of morons. Their training department was actually pretty decent, though. Training did not prepare me for the actual job though.
If you're looking for call center work, I would recommend searching for "virtual call centers". They do exist (I work for one!) I get to troubleshoot internet in my pajamas!
The Muscle Shoals Call Center has an extremely low turnover rate. You'll be lucky to get a job there. It's a great place to work, and the management team always has events for the employees. While working there, you'll see a lot of people sitting in nice cubicles reading books and knitting while waiting on a call to come in. People who get terminated from the Call Center are losers and couldn't keep a job anywhere. Attendance is the major reason people get fired.......you lay out of work for 40 hrs and yes you'll get fired; and no the HR team will not let you slide on that..... Try finding a place that will.

Hello,I would love to work at the Walgreen's call center. I have a strong background in customer service but I haven't seen any listings of openings lately. If anyone happens to work there, do you know of any openings? I recently moved back here from Florida after ten years, I would be grateful for any information or help.
Thank you.....
Walgreens just announced they will be hiring 350 people in the Shoals Alabama area.

Take it from me, stay away from the Walgreens call center in Muscle Shoals, AL. I recently applied for a manager position there and was called to come into the office to take a test, which I did. To make a long story short, I never got my test results and was told that interviews for the position that I had applied for were not being conducting on that day and that I would hear something within the next 48 hours. Before I could get home, I had gotten an email message that Walgreens managers were not going to consider me, and they did not provide any reasoning for not considering me. I cannot believe any company could be so prejudiced. It is a disgrace to come into contact with such empty people. I will never shop at any Walgreens store again. I will tell all of my family and friends about my horrible experience with Walgreens call center. >:-(

I have worked for the Walgreens Customer Care Center for over 7 years and I love my job. I mean really how many jobs can you get where you get paid to sit on your butt and talk on the phone. I have never had any problems getting off if it was something needed or issues with supes. I do agree it is not for everyone

The policy of W. C. C. C in Muscle Shoals, Al . are not followed in the least !!! If you get a break or lunch during training count yourself lucky !!! Although the Al. law clearly states what is acceptable ... During " training " feel free to do just as you please ... Want to get your hair done ... no problem ... the trainer will even do it for you ... not to mention learning is hard to do when fellow classmates talk so loudly about their weekend rendezvous ... the so called issue resolvers have the smartest mouths and resolve absolutely nothing !!!! And when you hire in they ask what schedule you want but they fail to tell you that mandatory shift bids are held and your shift will be chosen by rank ... so thank you " Corner of Not so Happy & Unreliable " ... Deceptive ... also overtime is mandatory however its so much overtime that by the time taxes come out hell you have paid them to work ... Fantastic !!!

I got a call to come in for an interview and was glad to see a recent post on here. I have a few questions I was wondering if you/someone could answer. How was the interview? Is the job its self hard? How are the people and the environment? If you don't mind me asking, what is the average pay and how good are the benifits? I'm trying to find out if it's worth it or not.

YAY once again W. C. C. C in the Shoals has proven their self to be such an undesirable place to work !!! I was under the impression that once you graduate and began working you should no longer be treated as a child ... How do you praise someone for doing a great job one day and then all of a sudden your work just isn't up to par ?!?! I mean seriously ... make up your mind !!! Here is a little note to W. C. C. C .... TRAIN PEOPLE TO DO THEIR JOBS AND TREAT EVERYONE EQUALLY !!!! Stop focusing on buying out all the small town pharmacies etc and focus more on people skills !!! When promoting someone to supervisor make sure they have enough common sense to speak to an adult in the same way they wish to be spoken to !!! Everyone starts out on the same level ... either someone doesn't know that or maybe they need a reminder !!! Touch only what belongs to you ESPECIALLY FOOD !!! Dig in your own desk !!! Being a supervisor DOES NOT give you a search warrant ... If something is being done wrong simply explain the correct way to accomplish the task at hand !!! Also just because your full name isn't displayed doesn't mean I am unaware of the person I'm speaking to ... Afterall a High School Diploma or Equivalent is required to work here ... so 2 + 2 will always = 4 !!! Holy and sanctified in the church but rude and cold in the " 9-5 " workplace ... so sad ...

Walgreens Call Center in Muscle Shoals is not that bad. The pay is up to par for the area, and management and the HR department will work with you within reason. It's not a bad place to work for, and you can really learn valuable skills you can take with you for the rest of your life. However, it is not for everyone. It takes dedication, compassion, and a whole lot of thick skin when you get a call from someone who is having a frustrating experience with our company. We have a "strict" attendance policy that allows you to accumulated up to 40 unexcused hours before you are terminated (this usually resets every 2 years). This is on top of 6 sick days for every year worked plus vacation time. You can apply for FMLA and Leave of Abscence as well. Take what you want from it, but most people who have been there for a while are relatively happy with their job.
I can't believe that you SUPERVISOR refuse to be honest in a completely anonymous forum !!! Just be honest for once ... because honesty is the best policy ... while you give that a try maybe I can stop shaking my head in disgust. How can a company really be so inconsiderate of true tragedy that ones self can't control ... the one and only thing W. C. C. C cares about is W. C. C. C !!! LIFE HAPPENS ... let's just hope your not an employee at this company when it does !!! And as far as attendance goes , why schedule " mandatory overtime " but then pass out VTO's like candy ??? Don't you people realize people have lives to live outside of trying to make a living ... when you are present every day your regularly scheduled no big deal ... that's called WORKING ... but 10 - 12 hours ot every other week is called slavery !!!

Okay, the comments on this thread are insane to me. This is the second time I have been fortunate enough to work at WCCO. The pay is decent, the work load is not demanding, and the supervisors and HR dept are all very competent and friendly. There is a lot to learn,so one can only learn so much in training. Tht is why there is "nesting" where you learn hands on. Everyone is so discouraged with training, but they all seem to do fine on the phone. The calls are not scripted at all now, obviously there will be guidelines as there are at any job!! There is a strict attendance policy, but NOT at all compared to Verizon and other call centers. ALL call centers have a relatively high turnover rate, also. I agree it isn't for everyone. I also wish there were a little more leniency on attendance. VTO is often available though and once you earn your keep, you have days to work with. Maybe it is just me who is grateful to have an above min wage desk job? I would recommend this job to anyone who is in need of steady, full-time employment. There is also room for growth. I have to speak for my issue resolvers also, they are great and the best tools for learning the trade!!:) I am beyond happy with my job!

WCCC is a job and the pay is not wonderful but it is a job. Beware of racist profiling by Human Resources and supervisors. Had to apply for paid leave to have surgery and they treated me like I was lying even in light of my doctor's notes and paperwork. Be prepared to be singled out and mishandled by supervisors willing to step on others to get ahead. It's not the place you want to make a long term career at for sure. Some people have risen to the top simply because they look the other way at their unethical ways of treating their employees. I will never shop in a Walgreen's again after I found out how they let their pharmacists get away with treating their customers. So many complaints coming in daily and so many scams with their drug costs. It's a terrible sight to see in America today. They take advantage of the senior citizens and hike up drug prices on their prescription savings plans. Truly a slap in the face to the consumer. I'd look elsewhere unless you like to be belittled and abused. Also there is reverse racial profiling going on due to the head of HR not like white men and white women. Truly sickening and disgraceful to sum it up.

Do not apply for the Orlando call center if you're not black. You will not get anywhere and Management/HR will not like you or help you. The only way to go up in the company or be appreciated is if you're black. It seems like all the hood rats that can't get college degrees score jobs in shitty places like this.

I applied at the Walgreens Call Center in Muscle Shoals, Al approximately 8-12 times over the course of 6 months. I've heard it is a great place to work and the benefits alone are worth working there (health,vision,401k,dental,emp loyee discount etc.). Even though I had over a year of call center experience I was turned down and my applications were rejected numerous times. Just when I was ready to throw in the towel with the Walgreens call center I received a call for an interview. Finally!!!!! The woman asked to have a 10-15 min phone interview. I agreed. I answered all her questions and at the end of the interview she asked for me to come and take the computer literacy tests. I scheduled a time to go take my tests. There is a set of 3 computer tests. 1. Typing Speed, 2. Spelling 3. Microsoft Word. They have a requirement that you pass all the tests and can type at least 25 wpm with accuracy. I passed the tests with flying colors and the woman from HR said they would call me in a few days to schedule an interview. Less than an HOUR later they called me and scheduled an interview for the next day. I went to have my interview and again they said they would call me back in a few days with results. They called me at 9:30am the next morning with an offer for full time employment. The starting pay is very above average. I accepted the offer and was asked to come in to fill out paperwork and take a urine drug screening at med plus. I completed all of this. The woman from HR was extremely professional. She gave me copies of all the papers I signed, information about the dress code and their benefits. I went back today to pick a schedule and got a wonderful time slot with two days in a row off. I couldn't be happier. Call center jobs are tough and they aren't for everyone. Walgreens has already shown me an immense amount of professionalism. They seem to have excellent company/employee communication and I am very excited to join their team. I'm not surprised there are so many bitter people with bad reviews on here though.. I loved my job at the last call center I worked at and many people had similar complaints! You have to be a hard worker, flexible, competitive and persistent to work at a place like this.
