Oak Meadows Ranch needs your help spreading the word. Oak Meadows Ranch is having a problem with The City of Wildomar. Help us be able to continue saving the lives of horses and share them with you.
We are a private ranch in the city of Wildomar off Bundy Canyon Rd. We have 21 acres and zoned for horses. The piece of land around the 50's, 60's, 70's and maybe longer was used as a construction land fill (concrete, curbs etc.) The part of the land not used as a construction land fill is useable land and we rescue horses. The land would take years to improve to do anything other than what we are doing. Blue Pearl Project Non Profit Organization donates the feed and care for the unwanted horses on the property. Volunteers help with the horses such as feeding, bathing, brushing and exercising the horses. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools and Schools for Special Needs Children and Specials Needs Adults and people of all ages come to volunteer and visit the horses, give carrots to the horses, because not everyone can afford or can have a horse or have the acreage to do what we can do. Within the City of Wildomar there are several private ranches that have arenas and facilities to board horses and have trainers to train visitors on the ranch to ride. Those ranches have visitors and most the ranches in other nearby cities do all of the same. Our ranch has 3 arenas to exercise the rescued horses. Just driving through Wildomar you see ranches that have signs about horse boarding, training and doing a search on Google you can find other ranches that are actually in neighborhoods that board horses, train students to ride horses etc. on very small ranches within the City of Wildomar. The City of Wildomar has a problem with what is being done on our ranch such as allowing visitors on the property to visit the horses or to allow an independent riding instructor on the property that has a business license in the City of Wildomar that does the same thing at other ranches in Wildomar to train children, teenagers and adults to ride horses or to properly care for horses. Many of these students that have used the riding arena at our ranch have won 1st place at competitions and a couple of the rescued horses have won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at competitions. Our ranch has students from local schools doing community service and adults that need to do community service helping with the ranch. We believe at this point we need representation to continue to help unwanted horses and to help the community plus rescue horses that more than likely would have gone to slaughter. We are not located near a neighborhood and have only improved what was a useless piece of property. Like I said we are not in a housing neighborhood and there is a few businesses nearby such as a Christian School, Auto Body Repair and Dog Groomer. Over the past 12 months we have been contacted by the City of Wildomar numerous times. If we can only be allowed to rescue horses and not be allowed to have volunteers and do what other ranches do on their private ranches it will hurt many children, adults, senior citizens and individuals with special needs. This is a rural part of Wildomar zoned for horses and agriculture. If people have 5 or more acres and have horses in most cases they have arenas for horses and have a trainer that comes to the property using the arena and training individuals to ride horses. this is not unusual. Nothing done on this large piece of property is unusual for a private ranch other than rescuing horses which we can have up to 105 horses.
There is Archer Ranch, Grande Vista Stables, Powell House Horse Ranch, Sand Bar Ranch in Wildomar. I seriously doubt they paid a $10,000 permit fee to have an instructor teach students how to ride horses on that property or even to board horses. They are also in neighborhoods near houses.
We understand a permit fee for what we do which $1,000 or less would be reasonable, not $10,000. Please visit: www.OakMeadowsRanch.com
