Just curious, I know Kroger employees are union. Do they make really good wages? I was interested in applying, But not sure if they are hiring. I once was told grocery union workers make a high double digit per hour, true? And is it a hard job to get? Anyone out there with Kroger experience that can enlighten me? Thanks a bunch!

The only way you will make much more than minimum wage is if you are management. In that case you will work 60 hours per week since you are salary and the pressure will be sky high.

their department heads and even full time employees are paid well plus the benefits they get are very nice. am i saying its the place for this person to work? thats up to them, makes no difference to me. but claiming managers are the only people who make good money there is untrue.

Well, I was under the impression that a checker at Kroger could make like 12,13 or 14 an hour. Just wondering if that is accurate.

That explains why their prices are higher than Wal-Mart.

Running a register isn't worth more than minimum wage.
