Answer: because people kiss his butt in your town and not yours!!
So what's it like being a slave? When CAJ gets liquidated and goes belly up, I got a wine cellar you can live in if you promise to keep my floors clean. No toilet though, and if I find turds in the yard I'm going to rub your nose in them so you better keep that clean too. It'll be just like your current job.

Also, just because you'd grab your ankles for someone for a dollar doesn't mean the rest of us would. But thanks for playing.

Working for chuck makes us all feel special in Murray, people always ask us if we can help them get a job. We are not slaves, we are loyal workers doing what it takes to support our families. We have no other options here, so who cares if we kiss ass, turn our heads... We are popular and you are all jealous. Ps- RV's do not have wine cellars

well, let's see how you feel later. i've heard that layoffs have begun! how great of an employer is he to the community now? Someone reported $50K worth of trees being planted last week. How many jobs his he cutting to pay for those? Of course, the Escalades are staying, but the people are going. Better to LOOK successful than BE successful, huh chuck?

Apparently your sense of humor's as big of a failure as your trolling.

Again, some of us aren't willing sell our souls for a buck. Convincing yourself that you're in hog heaven doesn't mean shit to those of us who don't play amateur proctologist for our bosses. And if you're truly on "the bandwagon" then based on the number of people I've known who hate the man for personal reasons you can only either be schlobbin' the knob or buried so deep in the ass of the company that one probably can't tell where you end and company politics begin.

Forget the personal attacks. Chuck owes about 45 million that's documented. Lets just use common math. Interest at 10% is 4.5 million a year. Let's just say the companies could make 4.5 million per year instead of losing 6 million per year...that's a 10.5 million swing.
Well if the compnanies could do that well he would still owe 45 million in 5 years, 10 years etc. With the revenues they currently have and just looking at the court docs Management would have to receive no money ...that would make the companies break even or there abouts, now you just got to come up with 4.5 million profit!! Sounds imposssible.
Lifestyle and over spending is the problem. Book companies are not the future. So it will never happen.

<quoted text>no, it's not. I have several successful businesses and employ about 400 folks around the country.

You make money by saving money and not spending it. The dude was buying escalades for staff? Why would you do that when you can get a reliable Chevy Cavalier or Kia SUV for 9,000$, saving your company the 45,000$ difference in an escalade. Seriously.

Why would you not go find an enterprising high school kid to mow your grass for 8 bucks an hour and a retired handy man to fix things instead of paying a management level salary for someone to be a grounds and facilities manager?

Why would you not find the most cost effective way to do everything? You do have to spend money to make money in business but you also have to be prudent. Escalades, fancy furnishings, and unnessecary overhead are not prudent.
And the warehouse manager- a drug rep. Please. Go get me some bagels

I know many people who work for CA Jones & I worked for them as a "temp" at CBR. Took the job hoping (semi-promised @ the interview based on my credentials) that it would become permanent. As soon as I started I knew the company was run by liars, losers and scallawags. Within first 3 weeks they had broken 3 important assurances that were given me when I accepted the job. I asked for those assurances to offset the low wage offered. I ended up with the low wage, and lousy hours!

The average working folks are GREAT there and I sincerely hope a receivership is the worst thing that happens & they get to all keep their jobs, but truthfully that is only because the economy is bad & they might have a tough time finding another - it is NOT because it's a great place to work! We were given NO supplies - had to bring our own paper and pens from home, had to share a roll tape among 50 people!

And talk about phony! We were regularly herded outside like good little stooges to have our picture taken so he could get his name in the paper showing "all the jobs" he brought to Murray. Then Rush ended (4 weeks earlier than we had been assured it would end) and suddenly his "300 employees" were all gone - some of us without even the courtesy of a face to face "thank you, but we no longer need all the staff". So, 3 months of work turned out to be 4 weeks of work! LOL - only 2 decent paychecks for weeks of aggravation and inconvenience!

I have no idea if the allegations are true or not, but after meeting the man himself and seeing him & his henchmen (and women) in action, it would not surprise me at all. I can tell you, the millions he may have gotten from Griffin were not spent on his employees or the quality of their work environment - a cheap metal pole barn with NO windows, NO pictures on the walls and not even a living plant in the whole building!

My heart DOES go out to the regular employees and their families, as bad as the pay is (some of the team leaders have to work second jobs delivering pizza!) at least it has benefits. As for the (truly) fat cats - they'll always land on their feet!

If chuck tells us to rub his feet we do it, if he says jump we jump, if he says cook on the square we cook, if he says serve our guest, we serve. We laugh when he laughs, we stand up when he comes into the room, we say yes sir, we take his insults, we look dumb so he looks smart.... It is no different than the military. We do, we left our own dreams behind, but with Chuck we share his dream. We do not need to fulfil you people's idea of independence . He takes care of us, we trust him. So kiss our a%%%

I was once privy to one of chucks stories. He went to an auction and a piece of the Berlin wall signed by Ronald Reagan cam up for bids. now chuck had no interest in it he said, but the history buff next to him said he desperately wanted it and was going to bid hi for it. So chuck in all his arrogance whipped out his Black card and proceed to tell the person he couldn't have it and bid and won. I am sure over paying just to deny the other man the item.
1. It shows arrogance
2. It showed he had a black card which he bragged had millions on its limit.
I believe he told me this story to brag about his million dollar limit. Expecting me to be impressed while i sold him thousands of $ in goods at his house.
I am not really impressed at all, it disgusted me actually. Humility is a much better attribute than what he showed me that day.

again i was once priviy to chuck when he had a little story to tell me about his credit card again. He had to make know to me that he ordered several million in computers for a job on his credit card, got a call from the credit card and they accepted the charge and he still had no limit.

Now why the hell would he tell me that
again just to impress me, well it didn't i could see failure in the future for the man back then, but enjoyed my ride and sold him my goods and went my way. Humility is needed for this guy and he might be decent after that. Nothing like hitting rock bottom to remind you your human and not a god.
I wish the best for the man, hes intelligent but not a genius, hes a salesman that as Wilbur said one day "he could sell ice to an Eskimo" but not a worker, and finally a philanthropist that is all about the recognition.

HUMILITY CHUCK, COME ON MAN, JUST LEARN SOME AND RUN A LEGIT BUSINESS AND STOP BEING A BRAGGART !!!

He honestly doesn't need to blow all the money to make himself important, he could do it by just trying to be a better man!

Chuck will make all his decisions based on his ego. Any action he takes will follow this filter as it has in the past. Chuck will layoff those who as less locally high profile, keep the SUV's as long as possible, get in the paper again soon, open a new computer business to serve Mo. Schools, and give himself some time to try and end this suit. Grifffin will own SEB, CBR and maybe ICS in full soon. Chuck will keep his retail and his 2% ownership of data center in NC. He will trade houses with another local businessman within the next year. That is my guess?

was talking with someone earlier this morning about the current round of lay-offs going on and we realized something. 6 years ago Jim Sims was forced into lay-offs at SEB. In that case and this one, earl ortner was in a upper-management position.

Under Jim, earl had been in charge less than a year and mass lay-offs happened.

He joined the caj corporate offices about a year ago and now, lay-offs again!

Coincidence? I don't think so. That man is poison.

This kind of stuff has been going on in Murray a long time. The banker and the milkman, petter and Paul doing their thing. Find a coat tail and ride it, hats off to them all, it works. It works out. Partnerships, the way to strike it rich. There will soon be an infomercial and a cd series! Click here to try it free. 5000.00 shipping and handling fee does apply.

I dont necessarily agree, I have been involved with business all my life and sold lots of product to the elite of Murray. Usually when this kind of arrogance is present in the partner it ends in disaster.

5 sales reps were laid off last month and at least 7 people from caj and cbr were laid off yesterday, with more expected.
