A great escape fantasy series is the Sookie Stackhouse southern vampire mystery series. I think there are a total of 12 to 13 books and they are a good light ready. It is the series that True Blood the HBO series is based on. But, the books are so much better than the series and the series does not follow the books at all.

These are GREAT!! Thanks everyone!! I've read the hunger Games and 50 shades books. I had thought about the Sookie stackhouse books but wasn't sure if they followed the show. Some of these I have never heard of and will be checking out!! Thank you!! And keep the recommendations coming!!:)

Here are some good authors. I'm an avid reader myself & will check out the books in the prvious posts as well. Many of the above I have read. I also read Stuart Woods, Tami Hoag, Lisa Jackson, Chelsea Cain, Allison Brennan, Jeff Lindsey ( the series Dexter was taken from his books)J.A. Jance to name a few.I mostly read mystery/suspense but others also. Rachel Caine does a series that is good but kind of in the fantasy genre. If you are in to vampires there are several authors that write about them & vampire hunters etc. J.D. Robb is awesome too.

I don't know if you are reading from a Kindle but if you are try signing up on the website and they will send you a daily list of free books to download. I've downloaded a couple of hundred now and they have some fluff stuff but you do run into some good stuff too.

And I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for such a good , helpful positive topic for once. Reading this has been enjoyable.
