A friend went to the Dr today and was told she would have to come in every month to get her prescriptions. Has anyone else been told this?

I went to my doctor yesterday and received my prescriptions, narcotic, as usual with three refills on each. Must be the individual doctors decision. My next appt is in march.

Lol, oh did I hit a nerve? You must be one of his kool aid buddies! I guarantee I am more educated than you will ever be. You might want to take a grammar class. After you have read any part of Obamacare, maybe then you can comment in it!

If it was a Dr.writing the prescription it is three months, mine changed when I went last month.Either the Dr. is wanting more office visit charges or it was a PA. that wrote it.

That makes sense. I hate that those of us who use our medication as prescribed have to put up with all the new laws because of those that abuse theirs. My doctor told me yesterday that I'm as good as I'm going to get and after eight years its time that I accept that I will need medication for my injuries the rest of my life. I feel guilty at times because I take medicine after hearing of the abuse of prescribed narcotics and the deaths of so many people especially the young people. But like my doctor told me yesterday I didn't ask for what happened to me and the sooner I accept it the better

As with any law, there will still be people out there abusing the system. For example, having your elderly mother on Medicaid asking and getting the narcotics you want for yourself. Unfortunately, I have had the pleasure of hearing this story firsthand.

No it is not right that people that take their meds as prescribed are being punished because of all the druggies. I have numerous health problems and have been to Dr's in Memphis, Paducah and Nashville. They all told me the same thing I will have to take pain medicine the rest of my life. I have been told I qualify for disability but I prefer to work. I have worked all my life and will continue to as long as I can. I work full time 40 hours a week but if I didn't take pain meds I would not be able to function.
