I have a friend that works at Tom's and she said the lady had just fiinished dinner and was walking back to the hotel across the street. I assume she was from out of town

The state or city or whoever is in charge needs to do two things to US 641 between 121 and 2075:
>Lower the speed limit to 45
>Put in real highway lighting

Sorry the lady got hit. But maybe it was her fault. The speed limit/lighting has never been a problem for me. It's a straight four lane road and 55 seems right to me.

That stretch of road is highly populated with business and intersections. The limit used to be 55 all the way to the 121 intersection. They wised up and dialed it down to 45 as you come down the hill. They need to extend the 45 limit on out to Utterback. It will happen and should have already happened. Bet on it.

Am I the only one who was taught to look both ways before crossing the street? I hate that she got hit, but I feel sorry for the person who hit her. There is no stoplight there, no crosswalk, and definitely not the best lighting. It doesn't matter how careful of a driver you are, it would be difficult to see someone at night crossing the street right there. The speed limit doesn't need to be lowered, people just need to use common sense.

The young man who hit her is about to loose his mind with anguish. He had his wife and baby in the truck with him. He never saw her she was dressed in black and if you see the truck you can tell it was totally an accident. According to law enforcement, the man was not at fault. She came out of no where. The driver's wife is a Registered Nurse and jumped out of truck to help administer treatment until help arrived. If that had been me I would have been in such shock I would have needed treatment. In case the thought is hanging around, the gentleman volunteerly submitted to Drug and Alcohol test.

I feel so sorry for the young man having to go through this. This could of happened to any of us who travel that road. It just happened to be him. I hope the woman is going to be okay. Praying for both families.

So sad. I've been scared out my wits several times by people dressed all in dark clothing walking in the street at night.

DRIVERS REALLY NEED TO SLOW DOWN... THERE IS NO NEED TO DRIVE 70mph on any ROAD. THIS DUDE HAD TO BE GOING WAY TOOLBOX FAST THE WAY HIS TRUCK LOOKED.

70 on a highway is perfectly acceptable. The western Kentucky should be old autobon style with no limit! As for the road in question 55 is a little fast now that the area is built up.
