Why does a pro-life float have to be in the Christmas parade? Is it really the place for political or religious agenda pushing?

I'm not sure it should be in the parade but I'm equally unsure re the gay float in the previous parade. The Christmas parade should be about Christmas not political or religious beliefs or sexual orientation. Why do these things have to bs shoved in our faces at every opportunity? What child needs to think Santa Claus even has an opinion re abortion or sexual orientation? Children aren't old enough or mature enough to have to ponder such things during their young life. Let Christmas be about the things children can understand and not about a bunch of stuff they don't understand and could care less about. You know, Santa, reindeer, snow, North Pole, elves, Christmas trees & decorations, toys, Xmas candy and cookies, family etc. All the other crap will still be around long after Christmas is over.

Who in their right mind would allow a religious organization to have a float about Christ in a Christmas parade? What were the thinking? Everyone knows that Christmas is only about Santa, Elves, Reindeer, and the North Pole.

Completely agree... There are certain agendas that I support, but I don't feel that a Christmas parade is the proper outlet for pushing political and social stances.

Soooo... What you are saying is Christmas isn't about Christ, which children can't understand, but about candy and toys? What rock were you raised under? Most children wholeheartedly understand religion, probably more so than an adult due to intelligent innocence.

It was specifically about abortion.

Depends on the family. I have a very secular family but we still celebrate Christmas. The float wasn't about the birth of Jesus but instead focused on a hot button social issue.

Isn't every parade in Murray pretty much the same things, in the same order?

Not at all. The homecoming parade was made up of mostly MSU related floats while this one focused more on local groups and organizations.

Just ignore the damn float. That's all you have to do. Personally, I am pro-choice but a pro-life float won't change anyone's mind.

I wonder if they would let an atheist group have a float then.

It was the Knights of Columbus float. It had crosses on it and said each represented a million babies that are murdered every year by abortion. There was nothing Christmas related on the float.

Maybe ask about that. Since pro-lifers are also pro-torture, could ask if you could set up someone being waterboarded on the same float.

If I had my way, there would be ZERO political items in the parade. Zero abortion floats, zero politicians waving at people, zero political stickers handed out, etc. A parade is supposed to be fun. There is nothing fun about seeing a politician and there is even less fun seeing a float with crosses, representing aborted fetuses. The KofC needs to take the float and shove it up their asses. Imagine you are having a fun time with your family and that float comes by. Then you are imagining aborted fetuses, not having as much fun as you were having.

Leave that shit out of the parade!!! And before you ask, I am pro-I-don't-give-a-fuck!

If he's got the courage to call himself "bed bug", let him talk. Might not accept any invitations though.

You've trolled him for a few months and your comments are more stupid than anything he has posted. I think if most of us had it are way, there would be no "sick of bugs" on topix. He at least posts something pertaining to the subject at hand and not the same " i'm sick of bed bug bob" stupidity.
