My girlfriend has been using Lo Ovral Birth control for about three years now. She had a regular monthly August 11th. Around the 6th or 7th of September she was complaining of feeling sick. The symptoms were a combination of diarrhea and stomach pain. She was talking to a friend on the phone and she suggested that she might be pregnant. She told me she was going take a home pregnancy test she had. She took it and it didn't really show like a positive answer. The lines looked like it could be either way. I looked at the expiration date and it was a little out of date. We went and got another one and used it within an hour of the other one. It definitely showed positive. We were in disbelief because she took her pills everyday same time because we weren't ready to pursue having a baby. When the test showed positive we were both surprised. She and I really weren't ready to break the news to everyone so we kept it to ourselves. September 11th rolled around and she didn't get her monthly and that added to our worries about. Those tests pick it up days before you missed your monthly. She started having symptoms like she was pregnant. We thought she might be further along than what she was. She was throwing up there for about a week and it even appeared like her stomach was getting a little bit bigger. We went to the health department this past Friday and they gave her a test and it showed negative. We haven't had an experience like this before. We really didn't have time to talk to anyone to much because it was at the end of the day. Someone told me if you get a false reading on a home pregnancy test and test again right after close to the same time you can still get another false reading. Could someone give me some insight on this. I was also told birth control pills can stop monthly's for women for months.

My suggestion is to look up the manufacturer of Lo Ovral on the net and read about this particular pill. It should tell you whether monthlys can be missed etc. I wouldn't trust what anyone on here said cause they will just be crude with their answers. Only trust a doctor or the pill manufacturers site or something else on the web like webmd.

This isn't WebMd and we are not doctors. If she isn't pregnant then don't worry. If she is then get out the coat hanger.

Your pregnancy test shows if there is any HCG levels in your urine wich is what your body releases when your pregnant. You can have a false negative on this test for different reasons like too early into the pregnancy or bad test. This test will hardly ever, if at all have a false positive bc your test will not be activated with out the HCG in the urine nothing else will trigger this. If the test line is lighter then the control line then your just early in the pregnancy and have low level in urine. If you have two test that showed just a slight change in the test line or say yes how ever it's showes then you are 99.9% pregnant I hope this helps. And good luck
