A dog bit a child and had to get uthanized. I agree that the dog needed to be put down, yet the owners of the Dog are calling the child a b**** for getting their dog "killed." The child could have been killed, HELLO????!!!

So its justice to the dog to be put down? What if the child kept meesing or hitting the dog. Some children do not leave dogs alone and the only way a dog can say stop is by giving someone a bite!!!

Yea...the kid probably was teasing the dog..dogs don't usually bite for no reason. Where were the kids parents? I would be mad too

The kid was probably terrorizing the dog. I don't know how old the kid is, but either he should have known better or (if very young), parents should have been supervising their child. I would be pissed if it were my dog!

I just heard the full story. And i retract my previous statement. The dog was on a chain. I agree completly that the childs mother should have been around watching her! But on a seperate note, the guys dog it was trains his pits, yes pits, to be viscous... its unfourtunate.. the dog was a pit but unless you train them mean, they are sweet... too bad for this dog, the owner makes all his pitbulls mean...

The child was 8. I believe she should have known better, yes. Also, a child is not a b****, so as upset as they are about the dog, all of that is unnessesary. I dfinetley see where you guys are coming from though. It isnt always an animals fault.

They should remove all of his dogs and ban him from owning any pets.

I personally know thesr people and their dog. He has bit ir snapped at other kids amd adults before. This dog needed to he put down. When a dog bites it is owner negligence. Granted the girl should have known not to run up to a dog especially if the dog is confined or on a chain. I can see both sides of the story though because a dogs only way to defend himself is biting and if the kid was bothering him it was self defense for the dog. Who lets their kids run all over a neighborhood like that anyways.

Look at their kids, did u expect their animals to be any different. The kids are rude and disrespectful and always in trouble. That's what happens when kids are left to raise themselves. It is a sad situation.

It is not always "owner negligence." Even the best trained dogs can and will bite if they're bothered enough.

I love how everyone thinks they know it all. This family had the dog put to sleep because of this. It was not court ordered. The girl ran up to him while on his chain and startled the dog. It was nobodys fault and an accident. The family did what they needed to do. They are just as upset this happened as the little girls family. This dog was a very friendly dog but didn't take well to new people unless introduced properly. It was an accident and for everyone to be calling names and talking bad about it is awful. It was a horrible accident and it has bern dealt with accordingly.

Okay so u got the full scoop huh? The dog was raised by a single mother of four kids and a grandkid on the way! pretty sure it wouldnt have been trained to be vicious. He was the ONLY pit bull there at the home. Tell ur informent to get better details k? Thanks :)

About 2 years ago my kid and I where at the park here in Murray. A lady and her small breed dog came and she sat down with the barking little thing at one of the tables. When my child and I got ready to leave we went to grab our bag and this dog, 3 tables away, ran over and bit my child on the leg. Didn't break the skin to much but was a bite none the less. The dog had no history of biting and after the Quarantine period it was given back to the owner, end of story right? Wrong. Under KY law I had the right to put the dog down. I did just that, I had the dog killed. Well the woman was mad or sad something. I don't care what it was, she sued me. Went to court. I won. Even made her pay me another 3,000 on top of the bite bills which only came to around 200$. She cried saying how important that dog was and she had it for 15 years. Blah blah blah. I didn't care and don't now. If your dog gets to a place where it can bite another person it is the OWNERS failure. Not the child or the person it bites. It's the owners. Any dog that bites should be put down. I still see the woman sometimes. Took her awhile to pay me because she was on a fixed income. I threaten to have it Garnished, knowing that I couldn't because it was some disabled bitch or something, but we would write crap with each check saying how much she missed her dog. When I see her in Walmart or something she cries. To this day I don't give 2 shits about her or her pain. If she loved the dog she would have had it been on a leash and been a responsible dog owner.
So unless your kid was trespassing, which is another game altogether, then good for you. Put the dog down. Record them saying shit to your kid and you take the 140$ or whatever and you go file a lawsuit in small claims. Make them pay.
2cents, you're overpriced...

Ok ha so what everybody is say is that if you hit somebody for pissing you off we should put you down? a dog bites. they don't have arms.. I have heard the story.. the lil girl was coming over for a birthday party. the owner of the dog had no idea her kid was bring all her friends over just thought she was going to ask if they wanted to come over.. the girl came up with her friend going to her birthday party.. she seen the dog that was chained up and was "EATING!" the dogs food bowl was a lil under the porch.. the dog didn't even see the girl until she was right there so he thought she was trying to get his food. the lil girl got bit and the owner drove her to her house told the parents she needed to go to the hospital.. then went home and called the dog catcher before anybody did anything. the owner was not forced to put the dog down she chose to.. it was accident plan a simple the dog payied the price for bitting and the lil girl got hurt and learned not to go running up to a dog you don't know.. but I have met the dog myself and he jumped in my lap and licked me to death. he thought he was being treated so he bit her. he wasn't a vicious dog.. just a dog doing what everybody would have done if they was being threaten defended them self.. but the dog got put down and I hope the lil girl is ok.
