wonder why the victims that survived aren't talking?? makes you wonder they are hiding something. If someone shot me, i believe i could atleast identify him.

In a hypothetical sort of way, what if a son and his dad got in a fight. What if guns were drawn and shots were fired. One dies while one survives. Wouldn't it serve the survivor's interest just to throw some lame-ass unprovable story out there? I doubt that happened here, but it's fun to wonder...

The lack of information given to the community since this occured is disturbing. For some reason I think it was an isolated incident but I for one will sleep better when we are better informed. I do not understand why when a well respected public official makes one small mistake his name is DRAGGED THROUGH THE MUD and his name is SMEARED on the front page of every paper in Western KY, but when some low life commits murder and attempted murder we hear nothing more of it past "well, there was a shooting in Almo". I don't even know who our inquires should be directed to KSP, CCSO. Who is handling the investigation?

I don't know why there hasn't been much info but one reason may be the fact that law enforcement doesn't want to tip off the suspect before they have what evidence they need to obtain an rock solid indictment. I would think the suspect would stay put and feel relatively secure thinking that law enforcement wasn't even looking at them. Put his/her name as a possible suspect in the papers and see ya later suspect. Chances are they will flee.

Just a thought.

You have no clue what you are talking about. The task force you speak of is a KSP anti-drug task force that uses a helicopter to detect marijuana growing on peoples property. It was detected from the air, which lead to an investigation on the ground. Why do you insist on making yourself look clueless?

I agree with itssecret... buttercup you have no IDEA what you are talking about. I actually feel like it's the total opposite of what you said. What's the odds that the KSP anti-drug task force would be flying over Garland's house? And Garland's lot is covered with trees, not easily detected from the air without special equipment. They spent our tax money for 6 plants, causing a huge spectacle, meanwhile ever other pot producer in Western Kentucky is getting rid or harvesting their crop. I just wish that they would focus more on more important things like METH DEALERS and MURDER SUSPECTS (ALMO). So what he was growing a little marijuana? Last I heard, it takes more than six plants of marijuana to kill. It only takes one bullet to kill somebody or using meth twice to get hooked.

Mike Garland made a big mistake, and I am sure he realizes it. And he will pay for it as well as his wife and family. I DO NOT BELIEVE FOR ONE MILI-SECOND that those marijuana plants was for anything but personal use. I myself have never smoked marijuana nor have I done any other illegal drugs. I DO NOT agree that because he is an official he should get off scott free, he should pay for his mistake just as anyone else, however if he DID NOT HOLD THE POSITION THAT HE DOES and NOT SO WELL RESPECTED in the community it WOULD NOT have made the front page of the Ledger & Paducah Sun, it might have been a 2 inch column on the 2nd or 3rd page, if it made the news at all. And that my friend IS NOT FAIR!! Just as if this happened to you buttercup... I am assuming because you are so adament that Garland be persucuted so severely that you have had your share of troubles. Pointing fingers and demanding severe punishment only takes the focus off your history and makes you feel better about yourself.

Sorry for the rant but I am just sick of all this crap!!

Any new info on the almo murders?

and ya still dont get it....should the fbi have turned their head at max parrish, because he was part of the drug task force, and he was caught with just a little bit of meth...

and if it had been just a usual meth head, fbi would not have been involved, but you see the cops are to be held at a higher standard than the rest of us....

rant all you want,, im not pointing fingers,
im stating facts!!!!!!!!

Woah. Bob? Barnett did that crime. The head was in the shed on the Barnett property on Alton Road, at the end of Goldenrod. Barnett had the guys blood on his clothes. Barnett was seen picking the guy up in Hazel in front of the barber shop... which was the last time anyone saw the guy alive. He didn't HAVE to "admit" to committing the murder. The evidence was pretty clear.

I too remember that ordeal and am CERTAIN it was found under a mobile home at Shady Oaks trailer park, the head that is. Also, the body was found indeed by hunters in LBL. Just to set the matter straight!
