Don't the liberals think for one minute that as soon as they take away our 2nd amendment rights try will take our 1st amendment rights.

Then they will enslave us all.

I don't believe for one minute that they ever think about that.

But if only there was some alternative besides leaving things the way they are or taking everybody's guns away from them. But I suppose there isn't. It would be nice if there was something that could be done besides taking everybody's guns away from them, but that is "the only possible thing" anybody who doesn't own guns could want to do: take everybody's guns, because there is absolutely no other possible course of action, is there?

.

Once they take my guns, they'll come for my 1st amendment rights. Then what?

Throughout history it's been proven that taking guns away doesn't work. It gives the powers that be have more power. And that's just not going to happen. You know it, I know it.

People need to wake up. It's almost like the government wants our guns before a civil war breaks out.

Why would we give them our guns and let them keep their's, that would be plain stupid. It's just as stupid as gun owners trying to take away liberals cars which kill more people than guns.

Wake the heck up and read some history.

Well, that's kind of a silly argument, most Americans don't use their guns for over an hour or more each and every day or undoubtedly more people would die from accidental gun deaths. You should probably find a comparison with something Americans use less frequently that makes sense, like it is a hundred times more dangerous for a home to have a pool than a gun in it.

But still, its too bad that there is absolutely, positively nothing that can possibly be done besides leaving things the way they are now, or taking everybody's guns. Most things have a plethora of possible solutions, but this issue only has two: do nothing or take everybody's guns away from them. What makes this issue so unique in that regard, I wonder?

You sound like a part of the problem. I will go now and tell others of your stupidly that you stated there are two choices here. There is not but one choice here. And that choice is freedom.

The right to bear arms shall not be infringed on. Not a choice, but is a right.

You of nobody else here on this site will ever convince me otherwise.

I'm part of what problem? Crazy men with guns shooting people? I don't recall ever having engaged in that particular activity.

PLEASE, feel free to go now and tell people of my "stupidly", but apparently you stupidly didn't realize I was ironically implying there are an INFINITE number of choices, including giving everybody a gun so they can defend themselves, or expanding the rights of gun owners. So why must we talk like it is one or the other?

I can't go down to Wal-mart and buy a bazooka. Isn't that infringement? If I wanted a fully automatic rifle, I apparently have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and get the local sheriff to sign off on it, isn't that infringement? I can't buy a mortar down at the gun shop, isn't that infringement?

I would hope so. If it did, that would make you a gullible nincompoop who probably shouldn't own guns.

Nobody is saying having the right to own a gun gives the right to take anothers life. Until some idiot changes the constitution all Americans other than felons have the right to firearms & nobody should be able to take that away.

Where in the Constitution does it say that felons do not have the right to bear arms? See what this other guy said:

"shall not be infringed on". It wasn't "shall not be infringed on, unless you are a felon". How can we allow the Constitutional rights of felons to be taken away without so much as a protest?

We don't exempt felons from the first amendment, how can we take away their second amendment rights? If they take guns away from felons, what is to stop them from taking them from ordinary citizens?

Everybody do not have the same rights as law abiding citizens. Illegals, felons, immigrants with limited rights etc fall into a different category.

Felons lose the right to bear arms. Illegals lose their right to citizenship by actions of their own. The list goes on and on.

A felon can't own a gun, but can have a baseball bar to defend his property. But if he threatens somebody with that bat and he happens to carry a gun. Then you got a dead man.

Felons lose the right to bear arms.
I don't remember that in the Second amendment. This guy apparently disagrees:

"shall not be infringed upon", not "shall not be infringed upon, unless you are a felon". So until felons can have guns, we are not truly free apparently.

A felon is a felon because he or she infringed upon someone elses rights to become a felon. If you trample on someone elses rights you should loose some of your rights as part of the punishment which is why they are not allowed to have firearms. They also loose voting privileges. I'm not sure I'd want someone who makes poor decisions voting in any election anyway. These can only be reinstated by pardon from governor. That would be a sure way to get some votes I'm sure. If you can't handle the punishment don't commit the crime period.

BTW I didn't mean the constitution stated anything regarding felons not having guns. Not allowing felons to possess firearms is a punishment they chose when they comit a crime. The constitution DOES give all of the law abiding citizens the right to bear arms & I think government should leave it alone already. Government is getting too much in everyones business.

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government's right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it Senator Dianne Feinstein,
may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma'am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.
I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.
I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.
I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.
We, the people, deserve better than you.
