Law officers need Spanish language skills

I agree why should our police officers have to learn Spanish if you move here from another country you need to learn English. If your illegal get the hell out.

Tell me it's a joke! I hope the officers understand some spanish to make sure they're aware of any danger around, but for the rest, let me tell you that, in my country, they should learn morroccon (sp ?), turk, albanese, etc ! And THAT is completely irrealistic, is the world turned upside down or what ??? Do you know that, if you want to immigrate to Holland, and especially if you're not a european, you have to learn Dutch and pass exams ? And find a job in a determined period of time ? That's something to ponder, isn't it ?!

Why not German, Russian or Japanese? The cop just needs to speak English. If they don't understand enough to comply well than they are resisting then aren't they. We all know how cops handle resisting. I wouldn't go to A country where most of the people who lived there didn't want me anyway. Especially if I couldn't speak the language.
