Get rid of her. She's not right for the job. She is costing the taxpayers too much money!

The corrections system is broken. If the general public knew the amount of corruption, theft (by workers not inmates), gambling and drug dealing that occur in the Pennsylvania prision system they would realize it needs to be fixed. It is a slap in the face to taxpayers who pay for it.

"VanTassel filed a federal whistleblower suit claiming he was really fired for complaining that Brooks spent $53,000 in public money to renovate her state-owned residence."

WHY does she even have a "STATE-OWNED residence" in the first place? Just because she is / was a Superintendent?? Does the Commonwealth provide residences to all their employees ?

If that's the case, I wonder if I can get a state owned residence from the Commonwealth of PA!!!

NOW THIS IS THE BEST, MOST ACCURATE post I've seen on line in years !
It is the perfect crime ! Pulling one over on "JOE PUBLIC " while working in a prison. You have a built-in excuse,," THE INMATE DID IT " and the public believes it....Until people WAKE UP the people who work in prisons will continue to rip us off

This is totally correct!! I am a PA CO and I know exactly first hand how these jails are run. Lifers and death row inmates run the jail, they get whatever they want and cry abuse when they don't get their way. I was chastised by my Captain for enforcing the housing unit guidelines, written by the administration, because the inmates were complaining about me. This prison system sucks, there are no prisons in PA, Camp Cupcake is what we call it at home. Our superiors are out to lynch the CO's whenever they can get the chance. If only they would put the inmates under the microscope as much as they do staff. As for promoting in this dept, how is a chaplain qualified to be a deputy super? Figure that one out. It happens everyday.
