I'm fine, not a corrections employee, how are you? Corrections people don't realize how good they have it. Aside from the legislators and judges, and the state police, they have the best retirement system in PA. There are people out there who would do just about anything to have their jobs. Adminstrations change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not, but supers and deputies don't generally stay in one place forever. At least the ambitious ones don't. So, for all those in corrections, I say count your blessings. Do your job professionally and do it well and you will never have to worry about being fired or suspended. For those at Albion, you have a top-notch superintendent. You are not always going to agree with him or like him, but he is going to keep the facility safe (to the extent that he can). For those managers and supervisors who hear their subordinates grumbling about the administrative staff, especially the super, tell them that he may not always be right but he is always the superintendent. If he thinks something is important, you better make every effort to attach importance to it, no matter how stupid you may think it is. I guarantee you that Ray Sobina knows more about effective prison management than you do. You may not see it now, but down the road you will look back and say, "damn, he was right after all." Been there, done that. Anyway, swc, I'm good and I trust you are also.

Yes, I do enjoy my paycheck and sign up for ot, mostly to keep others from getting mandated.
How do you suggest the problem in the DOC be solved, you seem to be so knowledgeable in this area

Perhaps some objectivity? I really do not think it would matter who was the warden at the time of an escape. The warden is ultimately responsible and whichever of his assistants, the major of the guard, shift commanders and zone lieutenants. They do cover up alot in these places, like problems between employees (in the parking lot) to guards beating the daylights out of inmates. The law makers got that covered too. Yeah there are always going to be whiners but some concerns are real. Finally, I really doubt that Mr. Kysor will be harming anyone while he is loose. He obviously has it together better than that.

Just one more short thought. How many of us citizens spend any of our free time in the local law library trying to be current with the everchanging laws? There's alot more than secret midnight pay raises going on. Better start paying attention.

I agree with you swc. that last sentence wasn't directed toward you or your comment and I apologize. Speaking generally, those folks with all the answers might do better if they knew how these agencies work, especially from the inside. How can anyone depend on an agency or administration that uses lying and deceit as a management tool, on the inside and outside. DOC policy precludes suprize inspections by outside agencies as well. Are they hiding something?
