And therein lies the dogma. PETA calls for animal rights, and yet wants people to spay and neuter their animals. Okay, sure, that's good, but how do you know that's what the animal wants? Using PETA's own logic, getting an animal fixed is against letting animals live how they should.
And this is why PETA is ridiculed. The base message is so ridiculous, that when anyone from PETA says something that makes sense is framed against that base message, the wisest of words make the whole looking like a laughingstock.
And this is generally why I pay little attention to PETA.
