It would be a tremendous money saving effort if they cleaned house up front. Most of them are overpaid and underqualified. Anyone know how much the severance package is for the office people?

the majority of us just want the favortism to go away and treat everyone fairly. we just want to be taklked to in a nice manner, not yelled at during the aem's. how can it be none of our buisness. we are running the parts and making the money to pay for the front office. it is funny how people forget where they come from. they get the office jobs an think they are better, come and go whenever they please. shouldnt everyone follow the same rules. why are they special.

How can Steve Brand say we are fine???? I mean I know there are several hundred (thousand) parts laying around...I am sure it will get worse. I think Syracuse and Magna are banking them up. And yes Dewayne did get the shaft....Probably better off in the long run anyway...Good luck Ol buddy
he will say and do whatever he wants and will get back up by hr (when they are here)and everyone knows why. since dan has been out steve acts like he is god. jones was the only one that ever came out and talked to us and tried to help us, courtny tied to help as well but the others got tired of hearing that so they dropped them like a bad habit. i saw jones at a softball tournament in selma and he is working at the hospital and is very happy. he told me its the best job he has ever had. he helped my sister get a job there. dwayne told me he already has interviews lined up

Just curious Johnny, Hows the corn business going? Still mucking parking lots or are you playing with corn yet? As you can see things are the same around this barn. Be glad you escaped when you did...... Did not know so many unstable people were employeed by Magna. Wonder if they will consider that when they start to call back? I have to say I do agree with you though.... Mike does seem to have a grip on the whole situation around here. Just ask him, he'll tell you! Take care of yourself JohnnyAmishReject and enjoy your Magna free life!
you would have to have buisness and jobs to call people back but first you would need to know how to go about getting buisness. it appears that the people in anderson know how to get jobs = nestle, mancor, battery plant. we will be lucky to run the weld job and our current parts. if we could add the cost of sorting into our quotes we would be making a killing. wait, i heard thay BMW was coming back - ha, ha that was a joke from day one

if you look up 'underqualified' or 'buddy system' in the dictionary it says 'see the mpt front office workers'. i heard dwayne got $5.00 dollars, no insurance, a leftover t-shirt, a coffee mug, a pat on the back for being a team player and a hug from tim mills.

Wait a sec...What are you talking about Pickett forcing people to bring in a union? I'm on third shift so I have no idea if something major happened...Is there seriously a union coming to Magna or are you just spreading horrible rumors like most of the employees? Cuz, this really isn't something that should be joked about.
Get ready, they asked me last week - be prepared to vote yes and we can start making our future better

STOP! spreading all the bulls#*t rumors!!!
Greg Pickett is not forcing a union in @ Magna!
For all you people who think you need a union , what you need is something else to do with your time! If you try to bring a union in @ Magna you'll be cutting your own throats! You can't blame Magna for all the world's economic problems people! YES we have issues at Magna and YES some of it is not fair but STOP with the rumor's . Here is a positive idea , if you dislike it soo much , get on with your life . MOVE ON ! so the rest of us can try & make it a better place to work!!! All this bulls#*t just makes you look ridiculous ! To all of those who were laid off i hate it for you , but hang in there & hopefully thing's will improve soon (the economy) and we can bring you all back.

If we are going to go after foreign business at MPT-Muncie I see why Magna doesn't want a union in their building. UAW has not been successful bringing their presence into any foreign auto maker on US soil. The market shows that these foreign auto makers are gaining steam while the big 3 is losing steam. Not for nothing from a business stand point you cannot knock allot of what they do in the front office. Let me say this again “FROM A BUISNESS STAND POINT” As it was stated already the people in the front office came from places that "failed". I would think that in itself is motivation to do something different. I cannot look at the company through Steven Brands eyes because I have not seen the same things he has. Much like yanking a screaming kid out of the street, may seem cruel and look painful but all in all it is for the kids well being. I certainly do not agree with every little decision being made, but heavy lays the crown I guess!

It's to bad they are facing tough times, perhaps they need to trim the fat in the front office and get rid of the excess wages up there. We don't need that many people up front doing nothing. Look where they come from. Danny came from Borg, Stevie came from MPT, Rusty came from MPT, Dave B. came from Borg, Tony came from Borg and the wheel place, Joey came from MPT and meteldine and Kerry came from Allied with the help of family. What do they have in comman = all those places are closing or have closed so that proves they must have great experience at running places. Ha, Ha, Haa. It makes me feel good nowing they are running our own titanic
Real quick: MPT= Magna Powertrain, the plant most of us work at. NVG/MTM= New Venture Gear/Manual Transmissions Muncie, the plant Steve,Rusty, and Joe used to work. If you are going to comment on factories where others were formerly employed, at least have the common courtesy to get your employment facts straight.

Thinking back to when I started this thread, I never thought it would go this far and change SO much so soon! If you go back and read some of the posts about 1/2 way thru the 1st page, Dwayne Rogers was called DUH-Wayne and he was a big jerk. Now that he's gone, he is portrayed as a casulity in Steven Brand's personal war to put Magna Powertrain out of business. What a crock. Dwayne was a bully who had the personality of a rutabaga and was shaped like one to boot. As far as all the places where our current leadership worked that are now gone, I would bet my next unemployment check it is because american auto manufacturing is changing. Or should I say needed to change and it is being transformed, whether it wants to be or not, and we are part of the change. It has been said before, and I'll repeat it here, education is the key to our future and changing careers is the best way to brighten our future. We preach this to our kids, we should heed our our advice. We cannot rely on the good 'ol U.A.W. to save us because unions are no longer what they were. They are pretty much weak and have outlived their usefulness. Thanks for keeping this thread going. I appreciate ALL the comments and views expressed here, whether I agree or not, who cares? if the truth knew what he was talking about and knew the history of the original general motors building and everything that went with it, you would know what the mpt stands for in my posting. as far as courtesy, when the goons up front start extending some to us as we pay their salaries perhaps we will extend some to them. until then - stand united

dear anonomus you say several things and appear to be a infactuated with sb. if the plants were indeed closing due to the fact that the automotive world is changing, why didn't our key to the future educated staff adapt at their previous employeers. since you seem to be a huge sb fan perhaps you could tell us abot his education since its 'key to the future' perhaps you could show us all the engineering degrees all the engineers have - good luck as you will come up short as they have all worked in uaw plants and have used the good old boy system to get to the top- another example that unions can help - vote yes
