Working alone, in that lyrical silence of your unperturbed mind,
you are O, so tender, vulnerable, warm, innocent, lovely. Mine.
The seasons move you at their will, inside or outside awhile.
The sunshine pleases or displeases you; I watch just you.
Now Spring is working the wind; but I hear just you:
that lyrical silence of your unperturbed mind.
I hear your smiling hum as though a bell
of distant inspiration has chimed,
as you set inspiration to brush
to palette to canvas to art.
All I could sense was you,
all of you for me,
in this lyrical
You make me gallant,
and tender and lovely.
Now I must take all of our Time now
& put it in a box, tie it up using
Memory's strong twine --
hearts forever tied --
Your lovely eyes, closed, gone now.
I'll never know more, as truth --
lovely things only you saw --
your "vision" lost, now, forever.
But I hold our close Memories, holy:
Love, kept so deeply, your heart,
now treasured deeply in mine.
No-one like you will appear again.
This lovely box, folded neatly in,
will stay in my treasures: yours.
[for you, Gail. For the smiles. Rex]
