Thanks for creating a forum that is positive and something worth talking about! It will be really interesting to see what people have to say....
I remember Ms. Hypes, Mr. Lafferty and Earl Cook they were excellent teachers that really challenged all of us.

I agree, thank you for posting a positive forum. I have to say that Carol Sue James and Drema Harris were two of my favorites. Both of them taught me that learing could be fun. And we must not forget about Maude Canterbury.

Mrs Carr is my favorite, and if we still had principles like Mr. Ritchie no one would dare step out of line!

I would have to agree and say that Okey and Benny Mills were awesome teachers. They made learning fun, and you knew you would never pull any bull over on them. Lord have mercy if you tried!!

They just don't come any better than Benny Mills. I have been out of school a long time and I still remember the majority of things he pounded into my head. He really cares about his students. He's not just there for a paycheck.

Absolutely, diggin deg!!!! Funny you should mention "Not just there for the paycheck" because when we were in the 8th or 9th grade we had a teacher, Hope Hall, who said and I quote "I Don't care if you all learn anything or not, I am just here for the paycheck."

I also had this woman for a teacher. I do not doubt one bit she would say this. Not surprised at all.

If I recall, the same night that happened in her desk drawer (at a Christmas dance @ HHS) someone turned everything in her room upside down. Posters on the wall were hanging upside down, and even the bookcases were turned to sit on their tops. The things that were done to that woman.

How about Mrs. Houck? She was my first grade teacher and I loved that woman. Still do to this day.
