Let's have us a sort of online bookclub here. I've got a book or two to recommend. I just finished The Shack by William P. Young. It was fantastic. It's about a man who has a hard time repairing his relationship with God after the murder of his 6-year-old daughter. I highly recommend it.

I'm in the middle of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for the 3rd time since about age 13. I still love it, but I'm loving it in a different way now. The language is beautiful!

I just finished two compilations of work by Shirley Jackson. Funny..I appreciate her even more, now that I have reread her little gems as an adult. I hadn't realized much of her writing was auto-biographical and that she was a rather tragic figure. From Jackson...back yet again to Anne Rice...reread Merrick, Blackwood Farm and Blood Canticle this past week. I love the crossing over of the Vampire Chronicles with The Mayfair Witches. Next on my agenda is Michener's Alaska and The Source. It's been years since I first read them....well worth a second read!

Well, you know I am a murder and mayhem kind of gal, I just finished James Patterson's new book, Run for Your Life. I was a good book, but a very quick read.

I like about anything Ann Coulter writes. I think Bill O'reily's books are very good. Jedi, I read a lot of your posts, I think you would enjoy these authors also.

I just finished How Many Witches by Richard J. Green. Not really a traditional book, more like a web article.

I suggest reading anything by Herman Wouk and Alex Haley. George R.R. Martin has become one of my favorite writers.

I finished reading Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol. It is an entertaining, suspenseful read despite the fact that the antagonist’s true identity is painfully obvious early in the novel.(It’s entertainment not fine literature)

Currently, I’m reading I Am Murdered: George Wythe, Thomas Jefferson, and the Killing That Shocked a New Nation by Bruce Chadwick. Chadwick’s research seems to be impeccable. Unfortunately, this translates into an inordinate amount of useless facts thrust haphazardly into the storyline.

Are you a female? I'm just asking because I love a woman with a big vocabulary. Impeccable, inordinate, haphazardly...oh baby don't stop. LOL Sadtoo knows what I am talking about. ;)

Damnable hippies! Step away from the acid… crawl out of your glorified Mystery Machine… breathe in the semi-clean air…

Slowly allow your episodic mental fog to clear.

Channel your inner nonconformist; train for your destiny. We must revolt!!! They will learn the harsh reality just as Caligula, Claudius and Caesar did—they are not invincible!!!

Are you ready to claim your destiny? If so, you must read HOW TO STAGE A MILITARY COUP FROM PLANNING TO EXECUTION by David Hebditch & Ken Connor.

Damnable hippies, will you join us?? Do you have the ballocks?? We meet Thursdays at 8:30 pm at the MOC. We are right beside AA.(Convenience, Hank needs to be able to attend each meeting.)

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Cancer

Hold it! You need to approach things in a calm, controlled manner today otherwise you're likely to get yourself into a state in no time at all. That's especially likely if you're trying to meet a deadline because you'll start to panic and then become all fingers and thumbs. You might also get extremely ratty with anyone who gets in your way or asks stupid questions. Come on, is that fair?
