An Arizona-based milk producer and processor has brought new competition into El Paso's milk market, which has been dominated for years by Price's Creameries. Full Story

Welcome to El Paso, GH Dairies. Finally Texas cows producing milk for El Pasoans. For year's Prices Dairies had the monopoly on El Paso Consumers. With the new kid in town, milk price's have gone down dramatically! GH should hopefully have a good marketing department in place to be successful. I can't wait for the Mom & Pop stores to begin selling GH products. Best Wishes!

I hope GH does as much for our community and school districts as Price's has done for many many years.

I have to agree with milk drinker, Prices has donated millions to our community. What will GH do for El Paso, I guess we will have to wait to see.

On another note, I did find it interesting that GH processess 20,000 gallons a day and they only employ 40? Sounds to me like their milk is being shipped in, which may account for the low number of employees. Hummm let's see Prices employes how many, I think the paper stated 168 and they get their milk from the dairy cooperatives we see along side of I-10 between El Paso and Las Cruces.
This is one El Pasoan that wont give up QUALITY for price, especially since I know where their milk comes from.

Competition can only benefit the consumer....well maybe not in this case. I was surprised to see that EPISD had chosen GH because their bid was lower. While Price's products have often been priced slightly higher I felt comfortable spending the money knowing, that it was returning those funds to the community. School districts, individual schools, sports leagues, literacy and arts programs, major events and neighborhood groups have always been able to count on Price's Dairy for support. I am amazed at the thousands of dollars distributed annually by the Give'em Five program. Knowing the "happy cows" up the road have produced their product only enhances the appeal. Will this mean less money for underserved programs? I hope not but this may mean money saved is actually money lost.

Dear L Baca
If EPISD saves over a million dollars I would much rather have them use it in the education budget than see Prices give back pennies on the dollar.
