I will vote for CHANGE and make my mark beside Mark Allen.

A legislator is measured not only for his voting record, but the bills they introduce and their ability to gain support of their colleagues for those bills.

Neil Brannon has been a very ineffective legislator.

Neil Brannon (a retired educator) has submitted 55 bills in his 8 years in the House. 45 of those bills were to increase salary and benefits for educators and state employees, and retired educators and state employees.

Only one of those 45 bills made it out of committee, even when his party had the majority, and that one bill failed to pass in the House.

Sometimes the devil you know.....etc, but I am willing to give Mark Allen a chance to better represent the people in District 4

Neil Brannon has represented SE Oklahoma well. He always listens to the people he represents and is very familiar with the issues of this area. I will fully support him in this race and NOT take a gamble on losing someone who speaks well for us.

Mark Allen has been endorsed by Senator Inhofe, and that is a good enough reason to vote for Mark for me.

He may be a good man but he hs a very ineffective legislator and I do not agree with most of his votes; such as

He is opposed to repealing the death tax
He is opposed to reforms to make Oklahoma more business friendly
He is opposed to any kind of alternative education to public schools
He is opposed to voters having to show ID when they go to vote
He supports big government.

Ms Bobbie, Brannon is not opposed to alternative
education. Could you mean opposed to Charter Schools? Public money going to an institution that can pick and choose their students, do not have to employ certified teachers and do not have to go by the state guidelines. Do your research. Google Charter Schools. You will find mismanagement deluxe.
Your statement is pretty broad on the issues.
It is your opinion on his being ineffective but we all know you would campaign for absolutely anything that had republican stamped on its forehead.

I am not referring to Charter Schools in particular, but perhaps you should be the one doing research.

Charter Schools in Oklahoma DO NOT pick and choose the students that attend there. The enrollment is limited but students are accepted on a first come, first served basis and have a waiting list.

My grand daughter waited 2 years to get into Independence in OKC. She went there one year before going on to Harding and is in her second year there.

They have a rigorous academic curriculum, the students are taught social responsibilities and parent involvement is required.

Do not base your opinion of Charter Schools on whatever negative aspects you can google up from performance in other states.

As for opposing alternative education, Neil Brannon is opposed to Home Schooling, but he can do nothing about it.

Neil Brannon voted against the School Board Empowerment Program last year and I was told he said he would vote against it again if it came up next year.(The question was asked at a forum last week)

Neil Brannon voted against giving vouchers to students with disabilities to attend schools better equipped to meet their needs.

Yes, Chebon; do some research.

It is my conclusion, not opinion, that Neil Brannon is an ineffective legislator based on his record in the Oklahoma House. In 8 years he introduced 55 bills.

(none have anything to do with veterans and the elderly as his radio ad suggests)

A legislator is partly judged (evaluated) by the legislation they introduce and their ability to get the support of their colleges for those bills

Only 6 of Brannon's bills have come to the floor for a vote. None in the last 5 years.

I do not know what you call it, but I call it "ineffective".

I support Republican candidates because I support the Republican platform. I support candidates who agree with me, not because I agree with them.

And you? What do you support? Watch those fingers, Chebon.

Brannon has been a good solid representative for SE Oklahoma despite all your negative statements Ms. Bobbie. He has always returned phone calls, attended local meetings and kept his ear to the people he represented. I talked to a group today who feel we will lose any voice we have in SE Oklahoma if Brannon is defeated. He has run a good clean campaign and that is the mark of the man he is.

Depends on what one expects of their legislator whether he has been a "good solid representative".

My "negative comments" are Neil Brannon's record. Easily verifiable for anyone who wants to navigate through the State Legislature website.

According to records from the Oklahoma State House of Representatives it appears the Republicans outnumber the democrats 2-1. Now why do we need to add another one? If things are in such a mess why have they not fixed it? They can and do outnumber the democrats. Seems like we can lay a lot at their doorstep.

if you will read a bit about some of the laws that were passed during the last 2 years.. you can tell it was republican run. They may not want bigger governement, but they definately want government control.

Neil Brannon has run a clean good race and Allen is running a negative one here at the last..I think a candidate should have enough positive platform about themselves and evidently ALLEN doesn't ..Brannon gets MY VOTE..

Brannon will term limit out before he can gain any seniority, so he won't get squat done for this area.A retired teacher/supt. he was only concerned with taking care of teachers and other state employees and to he** with the rest of us.
Mark Allen can do a much better job for SE Oklahoma, he won't be looking out just for the teachers, but all of us. Mark Allen has my vote.
Time for Brannon to go home and enjoy his taxpayer furnished retirement.
