If I read the article right, and she took off to Alabama w/o telling anyone, and cost the county and state thousands, then she should be required to pay the bill for her stupidity.

She should be fined for what she did....that is insane. How self centered can you be. THanks for cause the county thousands and probably the citizens to pay the bill Jesse. :(

I agree with others on here, she should have to pay the city back for her inconsiderit stupidity. I'm just wondering why she didn't even tell her husband that she was going to meet her 17 yr olds father?

Its a free country she doesn't have to tell anyone where shes going. It isn't her fault they launched the search for her.

If she had made up some big hoax, that would be one thing, but simply packing up and taking off does not a criminal make.

and, captain not so obvious, what story did you read? I can't find where it said there was no packing, no note and her cell phone was at home, that there were underage children...link to that story please, I want to read it too...

if you're talking about the 17 year old... story doesn't say that child lived with her, just that she has one... and any child support would be for less than a year...

was she the worker in the family? if the husband was unemployed, and can't work, that's the only way I'd see a judge giving him any support money

If a woman is a victim of Domestic Violence and flees her offender without telling him or anyone else in fear she will be located.....should she pick up the bill if her abusive husband tells the police she has gone missing? People are soooo quick to make a judgment call based off of a 1:30 news clip they read/saw. Maybe she had a completely logical reason for not telling anyone about her leaving.....

She's not the first one who left or thought about doing it but didn't. People take off all the time. That's their business. In this case, the guy left behind thought more of her than she did of him and reported her missing. She reported herself found when she found out. Someone who knows them could probably write in and kill all the speculation.

First off I know these people personally. I know not only that there is a 17yr but also a 15yr old living at the home. But what mother in her RIGHT mind would leave her children in a state of confusion who are clearly old enough to understand a situation such as this. I also know that the husband worked full time to support HER kids with are now for sure HIS. All she ever did was sit on her butt. Again, I know that all of her belongings were left at the home and her cell phone was left and of course no note.

Oh, and bye the way, the husband was not ever, let me repeat, ever abusive. He is a great guy. We have known him personally, and am close friends with both of them. People have no idea what they are talking about. People are so quick to judge the husband. He has been through a lot and people just need to back off!

And you're right Mrs. Cap. Ob. The husband has never been abusive but rather abused emotionally by this woman. Women are not always the victims, and in this case the husband is by far the victim.
