I Think It's Pretty Shitty If Ken Cole Is Going Around Doing What He Is Being Accused Of. His Lawyer Said It Would not effect his job? I wonder what would happen if that article made its way around to some people it would matter to. I think if that lady has signed documents of witnesses that have seen him do so, well then there would be no reason for criminal charges not to be filed on him. If he is Guilty Of it then he deserves whatever is comming to him

I think if u hurt or kill an animal you deserve the same done to you. Of course not if it was a REAL life or death case.

I don't believe that they should be killed for killing an animal but people should be punished. If it is severe they should be punished harshly and evaluated for their mental health. People laugh but if you look it up, people that kill animals again and again for no reason (food, clothing, or hunting) can be serial killers that haven't gone on to people.

In the case of the officer, if he really is doing this then he needs to be removed from his post. This is part of his job and if he doesn't like animals or dealing with them then he should be elsewhere. Charges should depend on the exact nature of what he did.

Cruelty is not just limited to Roland. Last week a lady working on the bridge by the golf course called the city to report a dog that was shot in the back leg. It was in pain but could get well. The city said not in their jurisdiction, called the county same thing. Then the dog managed to get onto the golf course. She called the city again. They sent a police office out and he fixed the problem. He shot the dog five times!

Don't we have an animal control officer to deal with this? Was it him?

No, I am horrible with names, but it was a police officer. The lady told me his name but I cant remember. She is planning on writing a letter to the editor to complain about it. She is from Texas and has been driving a truck doing dirt work on new bridge.
The last person to do a good job as control officer was the blond woman who used to work here.

I remember her. She was very good at it.

If the dog was threatening people then I understand but it doesn't sound like the animal posed an immendiate threat. Sometimes animals get loose no matter how hard people try to keep them in. And for some people these animals are their life. They love them as though they were family.

The dog was not threatening anyone, it was just injured. It was a statement that no one was willing to step up and do their job.

always seems like the law is above the law! if someone else shot the dog, they would arrest them for animal cruelty. yet an officer goes out and shoots it five times? makes me sick!

The new dog catcher in Roland is actually more cruel to the animals than Ken Cole was. The new guy hangs them by the neck from trees.

Is there proof of this?

That in itself would seem unreasonable. Are they alive when he does that or after they have been euthanised?

I have to ask because while they are alive it would go against state animal cruelty lows. He would be subject to punishment under the law. He of all people should be familiar with animal cruelty laws.

He once told a dog owner, "if you were hanging by your neck you would die too" while telling the man why his dog died in city care. That incident was printed in the paper. One time he drove thru the Arbys drive thru in roland and told the drive thru girl, "im a cop bitch give me my free food!". Rooster tells an awesome version of that story.
Make no mistake about it.... The current dogcatcher is a bigger goofball and criminal than ken cole ever was.

The new guy is spending his own money to give the dogs / cats a chance at a decent life so I don't know where this accusation came from except some one who was besties with Ken Cole or was trying for the position and didn't get it. Seriously? Know the facts before slandering because of something you read. Find out for yourselves and give the "new guy" a call and ask how he is doing with the new position which isn't so new anymore. The place is clean, kept up and he genuinely cares about the animals. Why else would he pay to have them taken to a bigger facility so they won't be euthenized, pay the 40 bucks to have one spayed so it can be adopted out....etc. geeze people. get a grip and own the information for yourselves instead of someone elses write up.

Rooster is guy who has a personal vendetta against the new guy. If you believe his "stories" I have a bridge I can sell you cheap. Rooster and his friends are out to make the new dog catchers life miserable and is breaking the law with their slander and cyber bullying. I've been to the roland pound since Cole was ousted finally. It is clean, fresh paint, the dogs are fed, not crowded, it looks and feels clean. I plan on seeing if I can help out somehow since I feel better about the place and didn't get treated like I was invading on some viking war palace this time. Ken wouldn't even let me in the place, EVER

I know that the animal control officer is a good guy. He has helped me numerous times with adopting animals and giving me information on how to get my animals fixed. I register my animals every year like your supposed to. Who ever said that stuff about him should get their facts straight.
