Good god you douche-bag, no one mentioned anything about the parks, zoo, or pool. This is about the golf course. The parks dept couldn't make it work anyway
Start another section if calling into question the dispersion of the park, pool, and petting zoo interests you.
"FYI"... county funds are county funds. I don't see any corelation between whether it's the commissioners or council. It was a waste of money.
You are the one whining about not investing in something if it doesn't make money. Do the parks, pool, and petting zoo turn a profit for the city? Does the library?

Many communities have municipal golf courses, owned by the city and/or county.

I heard the Mayor on the radio talking about who the owners are in the golf course. The Mayor mentioned a name of cceaf. Does anybody know what this is and I thought the Farmers Bank was involved with the golf course but he didn't mention the bank..

CEAF is a County Economic Foundation that helped with funding the golf course for the new owners. However the new owners aren't making it financially and CEAF doesn't want to contribute any more funds so they want the City, County and Wesley Manor (the 3 owners of the course) to fork over money to get the company through another year until the future of the golf course can be decided. The golf course is a BIG selling point for businesses and the Wesley Manor. If the golf course should close it would affect the park, Wesley Manor, business relations and Arbor Wood. So it's important for the course to stay open but the taxpayers shouldn't be the ones funding it. They need to ask the community for help or come up with some fundraisers to keep it going.

New owners? I thought the Farmers Bank stilled owned the buildings and parking lot? And then the city, county and Wesley Manor owned the actual course. is that wrong? So I take it CCEAF is not associated with the county/city but is like a private investor and who exactly is involved in this group. Seems odd CCEAF would spend money on something they don't get money back from, if they aren't the owners? Wonder if that is why CCEAF wants the city/county to give $100,000, wonder who is on this CCEAF. Sounds weird.

Interesting that The Mayor Keeps going on WILO and "Stating" That there is a WONDERFUL commeradery with the City and the County?? He is seen ALL over town with Council President, A.D. But REFUSES to even SPEAK to the Commissioners? When the monies were ASK for (the $50,000) for the Golf Course. McCheese went STRAIGHT to the County Council and Ask for the money. NOT Prudent in ANY Government. YOu GO to the Commissioners and Ask for the money THEY ok the idea THEN they send it too the FUDICIAL Department and THEY decide wheather to FUND it. Funny that the County Council Knew how do do this on the Regents Building? Watch and see. Mayor McCheese and County Council Pres. Are Right up each others (well you can fill in the Blank). The County Council President has made so many wild deals in the past year he has proven on his OWN he doesn't know his ### from a Hole in the ground IE: 1.8 Mil Municipal Bond @ 2.44% interest Held for 8 years (TAX PAYED) on the Mallorys property that he STATED was Slated to be RAISED and put NO Insusrance on(But put a LOAN ON) Allowed Theives to steal $300,000 worth of Copper and plumbing out of the building (no security) Then came to the Commissioners meeting to TELL the commissioners they were going to SPEND $225,000 to PREPARE the building for a LEASE from a Business that they had a "HAND SHAKE" lease on. They would employ 6 count them 6 employees. When it was brought up that THIS did NOT sound like "GOOD" business" another Council Member Stood up and YELLED that Council President had done a "Wonderful Job" because that HAND SHAKE lease would bring in $45,000 of TAX REVENUE to the City. Guess what? The lease was NEVER SIGNED! THAT my FRiend is the COUNTY that your MAYOR is Comfying UP with! OH and the STATEMENT about the TEE shirts and Jeans? HE SAID IN A CHURCH!

Sell it and stop the bleeding of tax payers dollars to fund yet another losing business. The foundation gets much of their money from the taxpayers via the Clinton county council.

If anyone thinks that this golf course holds the key to economic development, they need to ask themselves the following question: "would you build a manufacturing facility in a county where the city has a school system in the bottom 10 of state school testing?".

The county schools offer a great option, but people who do land acquisition look at education as a whole.

The current commissioners are not helping anyone's cause for acquiring new manufactures either since they persist in lighting up the local media with their inabilities to address issues in a professional manner.

This poster agrees with you WHOLE heartedly EXCEPT when you bring in the Local Media and the Commissioners. Go to the meetings if you want the TRUTH about what is going on with the Commissioners. Nothing and I DO mean NOTHING that that RAG called the TIMES or WILO has said since 1-2-2013 has been anywhere NEAR the truth concerning what is REALLY going on with the Legislative Office of Clinton County. As I stated in my Last Post: We have at LEAST 3 Clinton County Councilmen that have NO regard for the Office of Commissioners What-so-ever and are CONSTANTLY userping the Authority of that office. THe Frankfort TIMES could not write a descent TRUTHFUL story if they HAD to. They are OBVIOUSLY biased toward this set of Commissioners. Every Article, a negative swing is put on that office. EVERY Editorial is Sceptical about what decisions are being made in that office. Strange to THIS poster that, NEVER in the History of Clinton County has So much NEGATIVE Emphasis been put on THREE men in an Office that are MAKING Elected and APPOINTED Officials BE TRANSPARENT! Think about that for a Minute? Ya Know? Transparency is a GOOD thing! Something Frankfort and Clinton County hasn't seen in YEARS! Think THAT might be why These three guys are gettin the KNIFE so bad? Oh and BTY , it is NOT the Commissioners job to find industry to come to Clinton County. THAT is the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. Remember HIM? Shan the Man? Yeah Right! HE spent yer tax money running ta China with yer Mayor!

One should never assume things, especially in regards to being at meetings. I choose to go to the source rather than read and listen to the local media.

Mr. Evans could use a course in diplomacy. His ability to irritate and stir up anger from others is extremely high. You can call into question things without pi$$ing people off.

Can you show me where I stated that the Commissioners brought ED to Cc? I simply stated that they aren't making it any easier for it to be done.

Shan, Stan Smith, and others on CCEF are in charge of that.

I totally agree! I for one am sick of the one sidedness of the press. These 3 commissioners can't seem to do anything right according to the paper. It's obvious that they are bias and believe everything that 1 or 2 councilmen say. I'm very disappointed in the 3 new councilmen. I really thought things would change and they would step up and take the reigns away from the 3 amigos but hasn't happened yet. I guess they already forgot what it's like being on the employee side of the fence. We people I know that these commissioners have made mistakes but come on...it's obvious that they are being singled out! They are just trying to make people accountable for their jobs and if that takes being criticized all the time then so be...they go my vote! And it's funny how when the council wants something to happen the money always appears! Huh...

Boy are YOU drinking the kool-aid! Or MAYBE on the Payroll? It is Very obvious that you are not INFORMED! The ONLY way to be informed is to go to the meetings. How Else? Go to the Source? The Liars and Snakes that are Userping all the authority? BTW here is YOUR quote: "The current commissioners are not helping anyone's cause for acquiring new manufactures either since they persist in lighting up the local media with their inabilities to address issues in a professional manner". Not necessarily stating that they were RESPONSIBLE for the ED to Cc but you SURE are along with the Hell wagon that is against Transparency and TRUTH in this County for the FIRST time in Years! YOu and your Cronies need to get over it! WE got RID of the Beards cause we WANT transparency and we WANT IT NOW! YOU can allow your CITY to be ran into the ground but as for OUR County WE are proud of our Commissioners! Let em GIVE a lettle "HECK" it's About TIME! Rather than sit back an Live off the County! BTW - If you "Go to the Source" - Check out How many Entities Stan Smith is envolved in. Check to see How "Weaved" he is in the City and the County? THAT is money in ANY language my friend! And "Shan" the Man? Don't Even get me started! Sure MOST of the posters on here will agree with THIS poster on THAT one!

You obviously didn't comprehend what I wrote, so let me dumb it down a little for you.

I get to the meetins purtty much all the time. What I am a sayin is them commissioners, speecifically that Skip guy, needs ta clean up the way he talks ta people, ya know?

I ain't drinkin no koolaid nor is I on da payroll so's youins can forget that.

Everuy one wants that transparency thing ya all are talkin about, but we just want at see them there commissioners not use them there bad tones and words in their voices. Them ol boys could be a little kinder is all I am a sayin.

That there comment I made about ol shan and stan was supposed to be fer that other poster that asked about them clear fellers.

For the rest of you literate people, what I said above is nu viewer doesn't understand what I am saying. I go to almost all the meetings, have heard from the source how his mouth needs to get in neutral on occasions and choose his words a little more carefully so he doesn't end up be quoted in the paper on those words. Everyone knows that the media will pick and choose quotes and not run the whole story.

As far as Shan and Stan, I put that comment in to address with question some one else asked. I know there are more, but if don't want to put names on here when I am not 100 percent sure if they are. Those two names are the ones that you hear at city council meetings.

Blowing money on the golf course is on par with what both city and county elected mindsets are.

Let's not spend money on intelligent things like insurance for empty buildings that we bought with bonds. How about another alive on 65 project? We could probably float a bond on that, right? Shan??? Got any numbers for us yet?

Then let's give more money to Ivy Tech so they can give it back to the city in the form of a lease payment.

Lets buy us a bank building too. We can do some bonds on that as well.

Spend spend spend. Borrow borrow borrow.
